Hello, Crafters.
I’m pleased to say I’ve ordered my new white Storage by Stampin’ Up! units! YAY!! Please note that the Floral Grid Paper is only available while stocks last! If you want some, please order as soon as possible to avoid disapointment! We only have two months before the current catalogue retires! Therefore, I’ve decided to use as many of my stamp sets as possible, just in case they’re on the retiring list! Talking about which, when the Retiring List is released by Stampin’ Up! – SU don’t give us a heads up when this is going to be – I’ll post an impromptu blog and attach the list. I’ll also send out an email, and the list, to everyone on my Email Newsletter List.
When you receive the List, if you see something you like AND it’s reduced, order it; don’t delay. Some products sell out really fast (especially current colour cardstock!) This cardstock will most likely be in the form of three colours to a pack i.e. packs of cardstock that are available to accompany Designer Series Paper (DSP). Not sure what I mean? Check out page 191 in the current annual catalogue, say Tropical Escape Cardstock Pack. These packs will retire because the DSP is retiring, but the three colours are staying. Please remember this advice is if the price has been REDUCED!
Something else to watch out for is any product that is being retired because it’s having a re-vamp, new packaging, etc. Watch out for items on the list that are marked with an *, and check what the * is advising! I haven’t seen the list so I have no idea what’s on it. A couple of years ago Basic Rhinestones and Basic Pearls were retired because the packaging was being reconfigured, and they were REDUCED! On to today’s card! And don’t forget anything that’s still on your wishlist!
The stamp set I decided to use for today’s card is called Artistically Asian. There are two Chinese symbols in this stamp set. The one on the left-hand sign means FAITH and the one on the right-hand set means FRIEND! I decided to make this card as a friendhip card and chose the friendship sentiment which reads “Friendship multiplies joy and divides sorrows”. Red is a lucky colour in China so I decided to use Whisper White, Real Red and Basic Black, whic is one of my absolute favourite colour combos.
I painted the sentiment stamp using my Basic Black and Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker Pens, and I painted the Basic Rhinestone Jewels using the Dark Real Red and Basic Black Stampin’ Blends. The card needed some ribbon, so I wrapped three short strips of our 1/8″ Solid Real Red Ribbon round the lower part of the card front where the sentiment would be adhered. Inside the card I added a layer of Whisper White Cardstock that I had stamped some bamboo, plus first and second generation stamping. This is the first time I’ve tried this because I’ve always assumed that Stazon Ink would dry before I had a chance for the second and third generations. I’m so pleased I was wrong about that. It looks brilliant.
That’s it from me today, unless the Retiring List is published before I get up, that is! LOL! Until I’m back with you again, happy crafting.
JanB. xx

Hi, Lindsay. Unfortunately, you’re right, we can’t sell cross-border, but it’s nice to know that you would if you could! I so glad you enjoy my videos, and appreciate your support. Happy crafting, JanB. xx
