Hello, Crafters.
Some very lucky demonstrators in the US have already received their Storage by Stampin’ Up! units. There have been a lot of photographs shared on the demonstrators Facebook page. How much more excited can I get? Fortunately, I’m super busy for the next few days so I won’t have much time to think about my delivery!
When I made the video for the Explosion Pop Up Card, I said the Whisper White insert could be adhered inside a regular card base. A crafter asked me how I’d do it, so I decided to make video was the best way to explain. It’s the same basic design as the wedding cake card I shared here on Monday, except I changed the cake to presents! To create this birthday card, I unwittingly used three stamp sets. This was a great start to my self imposed challenge, which is to try and use as many stamp sets before the new catalogue launches on 4th June 2019.
This was also the first time I used the Pick a Pennant Stamp Set, and I love it! Now I have to decide between sticking to my challenge, or getting more pleasure from this stamp set! Don’t be surprised if you see at least one more card where I’ve used it! I have also been using the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets more regularly. They really come into their own when working with words. I don’t have favourites when it comes to dies, I just love lots of them. The Well Said Framelits Dies are a new addition to my favourites list. It is also on my “will keep for ever” list.
I recently saw a question from a demo on our Facebook group. She was finding it very difficult to get a stamped image lined up with the die. This can be a problem with the longer, slim photoploymer stamps. They are very pliable which makes it very difficult to put them on blocks without distorting the shape. Even if the shape is only distorted a fraction, it will be enough from stopping the image lining up with the die. The answer to this is to make sure the stamp lines up with the die before stamping! If you’re not sure what I mean, please see it in the video!
That’s about it from me today. I’m going to busy myself with customer thank you gifts and cards, as well as swaps for OnStage, which is on 13th April 2019. I also need to sort out projects for our craft day on the Friday, too! Yikes! We’re going up on the Thursday, so that’s a week tomorrow. I look forward being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting!
JanB. xx
