Hello, Crafters.
I received an email yesterday from my customer who regularly buys cards from me. She has asked for five masculine birthday cards, and five Thank You cards. Normally masculine cards are such a challenge, but I’d seen a card on Pinterest that I liked and decided to case it. As I was working on it, I came up with a variation! When I had finished the first, I made the second card, which is the card I’m sharing with you today. After I had photographed today’s card, I set the first card up to be photographed. When I looked through the lens, I thought it was lacking something. I gave up on the idea of photographing this card, and I’ll re-visit it today. I have an idea what I want to do, but I need to check that it’ll work!
Today’s card is in Basic Black Cardstock (CS), with a layer of Tranquil Tide CS. On the inside of the card I added an extra layer of Coastal Cabana CS. I felt Tranquil Tide is too dark to write a greeting on. To decorate the Coastal Cabana layer, I adhered four cogs that I had die cut for a previous project but I didn’t use them. I used retired Stampin’ Up! square punches for the front of the card. The Basic Black CS squares are 1 3/8″ square, and the Classic Garage 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) squares are 1¼” square. I used Fast Fuse on the ribbon and adhered it on the inside of the card first, and then wrapped it around the front with the join in the centre.
The key I used to hide the join in the ribbon is from the Classic Garage Metal Elements. I also used spanners from the Metal Elements to decorate three of the squares. The HAPPY BIRTHDAY sentiment is from the Blow Out The Candles Stamp Set.
Later on today, I’m hoping to finish off the first card I made yesterday , so I can share it with you tomorrow! So that’s about it from me today. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow, and in the meantime, happy crafting!
JanB. xx
