Hello, Crafters.
The weather was gloriously warm and sunny yesterday, and the forecast for today is even better. Hubby’s plan for Good Friday and Saturday is tidying up the garden. Our garage is at the bottom of our garden, and there is an access road that runs along the back. Last week we had our garage re-rendered because the existing rendering had been falling off in huge chunks! We had the walls finished off with pebble-dashing, so there’s no more painting! The builders have done an excellent job! Now the potted climbing plants can be put back against the wall with the trellis they need to climb. The tubs of different compost and soils also need to be put back in place. It’s going to be two very tiring days for him! Easter Sunday will be a very well earned day of rest for him!
Our team leader, Natalie organised an online party for members in her team whose sales were over a certain amount during Sale-a-bration (SAB). Team members who had recruited over a certain amount during SAB, or had a certain amount of promotions in their teams, were also invited. Natalie had sent all of us who qualified a kit to make five cards. Yesterday afternoon, she did a Facebook Live to show us how to make four of them. As usual, I went off road, and came up with something quite different! In our kits was one sheet of all five colours of the Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Natalie left it to us to choose which stamp set to use. I took Natalie’s lead and decided to use one stamp set for all five cards! The stamp set I chose was Daisy Lane which is a new set in the forthcoming 2019 – 2020 Annual Catalogue!
Daisy Lane features a daisy image that can be punched out with the Daisy Punch. There’s also a smaller daisy image, and I’m really excited that there’s a smaller punch available in the new catalogue for it! I used the Rectangle Stitched Framelit Dies to die cut the layers on the card. Watching Natalie’s video, I noticed she used her Stamparatus for all her stamping! It hadn’t occured to me to use it like that, but decided to give it a go. I think it’s a great idea!! I did all my stamping yesterday using my Stamparatus, and I didn’t waste any stamped images! If I didn’t ink the stamp enough, or press hard enough, I just re-did it! I hope this becomes a new habit for me!
I stamped three daisies which needed fussy cutting, as well as one on the Whisper White layer that I’d be adhering inside the card. To colour them all, I used my Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. I coloured the centres first using the Dark Daffodil Delight, and then all the petals with the Light Daffodil Delight Blend. I went back over the top half of the petals with the Dark Blend. Next I painted the centres of the three flowers with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen. To finish my card I added three Basic Rhinestones, and a bow using the SAB ribbon that sold out in next to no time!
I thoroughly enjoyed making this card. Thanks to Natalie for the inspiration! That’s it from me today, and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, I wish you a very blessed Easter and happy crafting.
