Hello, Crafters.
Today’s card was inspired by a card I saw on Facebook made by Karen Varley of Donemark Papercrafts. I CASE’d the background, but with a different stamp, and also the band across the centre. Then I did my own thing. You may have seen me doing the five white dots either inside or outside of curls previously.
Karen used the humming bird and the sentiment from the Humming Along Stamp Set. Originally I was going to follow suit, hence the same sentiment. Once I had gone off on a tanget with white dots, there was no coming back! I chose some images from the Falling Flowers Stamp Set to use in place of the bird. I considered stamping the flower on Whisper White Cardstock (CS) using Crumb Cake Ink. That was a no go because I wouldn’t have been able to use the white gel pen on the bobble flowers, and any other colour would have been totally out of the question!
To complete the front of the card, I added large Basic Pearl Jewels on all the bobble flowers, and three medium pearls under the sentiment. Next I started decorating the inside of the card. To start with I stamped the top half of the swirly stamp, in the bottom right hand corner, of a Crumb Cake CS layer. I adhered this to a Basic Black CS layer, and adhered them inside the card. Using my white gel pen again, I added five dots inside the curls stamped onto the top layer.
As they were inside the card I couldn’t add pearls to the bobble flowers. It was only as I was sitting here writing did I decide I could put white dots in them like I did with those by the flower! I have added the dots now, but it’s too late for the photographs! That’s about it for today. I hope you have a super weekend. I look forward to being back tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.
