Hello, Crafters.
Hanging Garden is another stamp set we have to say goodbye to on 3rd June, 2019. Probably not one of the most popular sets but it was always a delight to paint! I stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink so I was able to use my Stampin’ Blends for colouring. Recently I found it’s so much easier to colour small images like this using what I call the pen end of the Blends. Learning this tip has increased my pleasure of colouring with Blends big time! You probably know that I’m not much of a colourer, and I appreciate all the help and tips I can get! LOL!The obvious choice for colouring the daffodils was Daffodil Delight Blends in both Light and Dark. I don’t know what the little flowers are but decided to paint them in Calypso Coral Blends Light and Dark. I used Light all over first, and then I did just a dot of Dark in the centre of each flower! I think it worked really well!
The leaves have been painted in Call Me Clover. I was able to add shading to the tall slim spiky leaves, but all the others were far too small! I used Light Smokey Slate for the metal bands supporting the moss basket. I used Soft Suede Light and Dark for the moss, although I could have used Mossy Meadow. What colour do you see moss baskets – green or brown?
I used my trimmer to cut the image in half, in both directions. Next I adhered them to Calypso Coral squares. I stamped the sentiment “Kind people are my kind of people” onto a piece of Whisper White, using Memento Ink. I die cut the sentiment using one of the circles in the Stitched Shapes Circle Dies, and adhered it to a Calypso Coral Starburst Circle. I’m pleased to see that the Starburst Punch is being carried forward into the new catalogue!
I dry embossed the top Whisper White layer using the Subtles Dynamic Embossing Folder. Next I adhered the image and the sentiment using Dimensionals. My finishing touch for the front of the card was a punched butterfly from the now retired Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper. I curled the wings to go under, and then adhered a small piece of a Dimensional to stop them fromever getting squashed completely! To decorate the inside of my card I adhered the larger size punched butterfly.
That’s it from me today. I hope you have a terrific Tuesday and I’ll look forward to being back with you tomorrow.I the meantime, happy crafting.

I really like that stamp set and your card is very pretty. Would you please let me know what is the dimension of the white card stock panel that you stamped on and then cut in quarters?
Hi, Elizabeth. Of course. The white was 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″, and I cut into 1 1/4″ squares. The Calypso Coral layers were punched out with my retired 1 3/8″ square punch. I hope this helps. Happy crafting, JanB. xx
Very cute card = can’t wait to try and make it.
Many thanks, Lynda. Enjoy making this card. Happy crafting, JanB. xx
