Hello, Crafters.
As well as trying to make sure I use all my stamp sets at least once more, I’m also trying to use up my cardstock in the retiring five InColours. These colours are Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink, Tranquil Tide. When I organised the Craft Day for the OnStage Convention last November I used Tranquil Tide for the main project. I had enough cardstock to get me through by the skin of my teeth! Recently I remembered I had some 12″ x 12″ cardstock in Tranquil Tide. I decided to use some of it for today’s card.
My card base is Tranquil Tide Cardstock (C S) and the two pieces of Designer Series Paper (DSP) are from Nature’s Poem. The two designs are back to back, and the lighter green is Mint Macaroon. When I had adhered the DSP to the Whisper White CS layer, I wrapped a piece of Mini Ruched Ribbon, from top to bottom. Yesterday, I made my March Thank You cards for my online customers. I used this floral image from the Touches of Texture Stamp Set. It has been coloured with Berry Burst and Tranquil Tide Stampin’ Write Markers. The idea for today’s card came to me as I was colouring the Thank You cards!
The only parts of the design I didn’t think about originally are the dragonflies. When I had the Tranquil Tide CS folder out, I checked the ready made die cuts. There were several different ones for me to choose from, and the dragonflies fitted my design the best. I had planned to put two on the front of my card but they didn’t look good together, so I saved the second one for the inside of my card. After I had adhered my image to my card using Dimensionals, I decided it needed a background! I wasn’t confident about stamping a background stamp with the image already adhered in place. My second choice was to add some little dots using a marker pen. This idea worked well!
I chose the GET WELL SOON sentiment from the Apron of Love Stamp Set. After I had stamped it on a piece of Whisper White CS, I layered it on to a piece of Tranquil Tide CS. I took another Whisper White CS layer, and stmped the floral image, coming off the page quite a long way! After I had painted the image, I adhered the layer inside the card. I think adding the second dragonfly finished it off brilliantly! It would be lovely if allmy card designs came to me as easily as that! LOL!
That’s about it from me today. I hope you have a terrific Thursday and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. I hope you have a terrific Thursday and until tomorrow, happy crafting.
