Hello, Crafters.
What fabulous sunny weather we had for our drive up to Telford yesterday, and we were equally fortunate with the traffic. When we were approaching Oxford – which is about an hour away from Telford – we decided to have a comfort break! As it was so sunny, we bought a sandwich, and sat in the sunshine eating them. There were some lovely fountains just by the outdoor rustic table and chairs where we sat.
I think this is probably the nicest services we have ever visited. As a general comment, motorway services in the UK are generally clean, well run, and with a good selection of eating franchises. After our comfort stop, we headed to Birmingham Airport to collect Audrey, who was flying down from Scotland. Considering the journey from home to the airport is about 180 miles, it’s amazing that we arrived about five minutes after Audrey had walked out of the airport!
After another half an hour or so, we arrived at our hotel in Telford, and checked in. Hubby and I unpacked our suitcases, and had a catnap. I had booked a table for dinner at 6 pm in the Beefeater Restaurant which is attached to the hotel. Food is reasonable, and filled a hole beautifully!
Just as we were finishing, Karen phoned to say she had just arrived at the hotel, having driven up straight from work! She said she was checking in, and then she was planning to spend her time chilling out! Time for an early night for us! Our Craft Day starts at 10 am in the morning so we don’t have to get up at silly o’clock! I hope you have a fabulous Friday, and I’ll be back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.
