Hello, Crafters.
Today’s card is the one I was telling you about yesterday. I had completed it but it still needed something. I originally saw the design of this card on Pinterest, and it looked gorgeous. When I had finished making it, the top right and bottom left panels looked bare, but I didn’t notice this being the case with the card on Pinterest!I decided the logical elements to add to the two bare corners were wooden leaves. The leaves I chose to use needed painting because the natural wood looked too stark. They are from the Frames Elements. I had more than I needed so I could afford to practice on one of them! The combination that fitted best was to do a layer of Dark Smokey Slate first, and then a top coat of Light Soft Suede.
I adhered the painted elements in place using Tombow. Next I painted over them with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen. I also painted the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP) the elements were adhered to. The sentiment is from the Blow Out The Candles Stamp Set. I stamped it in Early Espresso on Crumb Cake Cardstock.
After I had die cut it using the Layering Square Stitched Shapes Die, I layered it onto a larger square in Early Espresso Cardstock. Inside the card I adhered a layer of Crumb Cake for the greeting to be written on. I decorated it with a fussy cut tree trunk, with a couple of leave stamped and die cut from the Rooted In Nature Stamp Set and matching dies.
Although I’ve made these two masculine cards as birthday cards, the designs would aso be super for Father’s Day cards, too! I hope you have a super weekend whatever your plans are. I’ll be back with you tomorrow, and in the meantime, happy crafting.
JanB. xx
