Hello, Crafters.
Did you manage to order the Hugs from Shelli Paper Pumpkin Kit yesterday? I wasn’t going to take any chances on missing out on this and ordered mine at 6.30 am! The reason I had such an early start yesterday was for a rather early dental appointment! Today’s card is the fifth and final Thank You card for my customer. I’m really very pleased with it, but I do feel that it’s a bit over the top for a Thank You card!I normally keep them fairly plain with minimum embellishments. Maybe I should change the way I look at Thank You cards! I used the same basic materials as I did for yesterday’s card i.e. Designer Series Paper (DSP) and cardstock (CS). Today’s card has the DSP layered onto a strip of Whisper White CS, and then adhered in the centre of the Calypso Coral.
Before I added this layer to the card base, I tied a strip of the 5/8” Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the centre and tied it in a bow. Then I adhered the layer to the Whisper White Card Base using Tombow. The sentiment is from the All That You Are Stamp Set, which will be retiring on 3rd June 2019! I die cut it using the largest Stitched Shape Framelits Oval Die. This left a space to add some die cut flowers I found in the Calypso Coral scrap folder. The stamp was from the gorgeous Petal Palette Stamp Set, and I used a die from the coordinating Petals & More Framelits Dies.
I added a layer of Calypso Coral CS and a layer of Whisper White CS inside the card. I deliberately leave Thank You cards blank inside to allow the sender plenty of room to write their message of thanks. To finish the front of the card I added a pearl in the centre of each of the three flowers. I also added a line of three pearls in the top right hand corner.
At the beginning of today’s blog I said I think I went over the top with the decoration on this Thank You card. I certainly feel that with a change of sentiment, this design would make a great birthday card, get well card, etc. I’m definitely happy with how it turned out! Today I’m taking hubby to the hospital for his annual retina scan. It can take a couple of hours for his eyes to settle down again. So he’s going to have a sleep in the car while I drive us to Kingston for a new suit for him and new shoes for me!
So that’s about it from me today. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow, and in the meantime, Happy crafting.
