Hello, Crafters.
Each month I try to think of different Thank You gifts I can put in the happy mailI send my customers. I’m exceptionally pleased with the gift I came up with for April 2019. I found some car air freshers online. After hubby had tried one in his car, I set about how I was going to present them. One of my all time favourite “wrappers” is the pouch with the ribbon that wraps around the gift inside the pouch. When the ribbon is pulled, it pulls the gift up and out. This had the extra benefit of giving me a great way to use up a lot of my Designer Series Paper (DSP)!I was also able to use the same colour DSP – more or less – as the colour of the air freshener. There were one or two of them where I pushed the boundaries, but overall it was a great result! To create the two pouches above, I used some Botanical Butterfly DSP which I had left over from Sale-a-bration. I created the sentiments by stamping the image from the Stitched All Around Stamp Set, and adhered it onto a piece of Snimmer Glitter Paper, which I had die cut using a die from the Stiched Labels Framelits. This was then adherered onto a piece of tone on tone cardstock, which was then adhered onto the pouch with Dimensionals.
The two pouches above have been made with the Broadway Bound DSP, and the air fresheners are Black. I must admit that I did find some of the designs in this DSP difficult to use, but I’ve persevered and have now used most of it. In the photograph below, you can see how the air freshener slides out of the pouch with the ribbon. About three years ago I made a video which shows how to make these pouches! It’s called No. 123 – Chocolate Pull Up Chocolate. In the video, I also explain how to calculate the size of DSP you’ll for the size of your chocolate Bar!!
I continued with my desire to use my DSP when I made my Thank You cards. Although I stayed with the Tranquil Tide Mini Ruffled Ribbon, I was able to choose several different DSP designs. For the sentiment, I chose the sentiment from the Animal Outing Stamp Set. I stamped with Tranquil Tide Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock, and die cut with the smallest Stitched Shape Circle Framelits Dies. The DSP I used for the first two cards in the photograph above is Petal Promenade, and the last two cards are from Share What You Love Specialty DSP. All the designs on one side of each sheet has been enhanced with areas of pearlised colouring. This was in recognition of Stmpin’ Up!s thirtieth anniversary! When I send my Thank You cards to my customers, I don’t write on them, but I keep them clean and supplied with an envelope.
This morning I’m off to the hairdressers – that’s three days in a row where I’ve had appointments this week! I certainly didn’t plan that very well! I think that’s about it for today. I hope you have a ovely day and until tomorrow, happy crafting.
