Decorating Envelopes! It’s a First!

Uncategorized

25 May

Hello, Crafters.

Yesterday I spent all day working on tomorrow’s video. I knew which fancy fold card I was going to make, but I wasn’t sure how to make it! As this video is for a crafter’s request, I felt very motivated, and set about learning how this card style is made. When I’m in this position, I don’t settle for watching just one video, I watch several,  and yesterday wasn’t any different. My next step was to work on a design. As we are approaching the launch of a new catalogue, I wanted to use a stamp set that’s being carried forward. I chose the fabulous Beauty Abounds, which co-ordinates with the Butterfly Beauty Dies. By the time I had finished making the video, it was past dinner time, so we ate quite late last night. This left me with very little time today’s blog post. I didn’t want to d o something just for the sake of it and decided to make up the box that came with the Sentimental Rose Paper Pumpkin that I shared with you on Monday. The kit came with a wide band of white corrugated cardstock to be used as a belly band. I didn’t want to cover the cards up, and I decided to use the 5/8″ Whisper White Flax Ribbon instead. It’s so easy to tie this ribbon into beautiful bows! Next I decided to decorate the matching envelopes in the kit! The flower stamp is one of Stampin’ Up!’s Distinktive stamps, and the image is stunning. I stamped approximately two thirds of the rose on the front in the bottom left hand corner. To stamp some Mint Macaroon leaves, I used the mask I’d made for Monday’s cards. I know a lot of crafters consider decorating the envelope is just as important as decorating the inside of the card. Now, I fully appreciate why! I would like it to be just as normal for me! But no promises! LOL!That’s all I have time for today. I’ll be back again tomorrow with details and pictures of the video. Ihope you have a lovely weekend whatever your plans are. In the meantime, happy crafting.
