I hope you’ve had a wonderful relaxing weekend. Today’s card is another masculine birthday card using the Classic Garage 6″x6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP). I was going to add a key from the trinkets but decided against it. The recipient of the card might think they’re going to get a new car as their birthday gift! I changed it to a spanner so the message changed to “you’ll be able to fix your car yourself”! LOL!I fussy cut the car from one of the designs in the DSP pack. Normally I adhere paper images to a piece of cardstock (CS) before adding Dimensionals. Yesterday I had one and a half sheets of the outside edges left. I put a strip all round the car and decided there was more than enogh support for it. The card base is Basic Grey, and that’s the colour I stamped the sentiment in. I love this sentiment, which is from the Blow Out the Candles Stamp Set. Unfortunately, this stamp set will be retiring on the 3rd June!I die cut the sentiment using the Layering Ovals Thinlits Dies, and adhered it to a Basic Grey scalloped oval. Next I adhered it on the card front using Dimensionals. Before I firmed it down, I slipped the linen thread that was attached to the spanner underneath the Dimensionals. Inside the card I added a layer of Real Red CS, and a layer of Whisper White CS. I had a petrol can that had been die cut from one of the DSP designs. Just by way of a change, I decided to adhere the can back to front in the bottom right hand corner! The design on the reverse of the petrol cans is almost solid Basic Grey, so the idea worked well!Just a note before I go. The Stampin’ Trimmer is not being carried forward into the new catalogue! Stampin’ Up! have made this decision, partly, because they are having problems getting replacement blades. We have been assured by SU that we will be able to buy replacement blades until September. Please email me if you have any questions about this. firstname.lastname@example.orgThat’s it from me today. I hope you have a wonderful week, and I’ll be back tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.
