Hello, Crafters.
Today’s card is another card I haven’t used before, and which is retiring on 3rd June 2019! I also used the High Tide Stamp Set for the birds. Yesterday I said I’d used 33 stamp sets, but I should have said 37, so now it’s 39. Plus, I now have just six unused stamp sets! Pretty good going methinks!
Today I have posted all my customers a copy of the new 2019 – 2020 Annual Catalogue. If I get the service I’ve paid Royal Mail for, everyone will receive their catalogue in time for the long weekend i.e. Monday is a Bank Holiday. If you live in Europe, and don’t already have a demonstrator, if you’d like a catalogue – English, French or German – email me your postal address and I’ll be happy to send you one!
I tried today’s card by paper piecing first. but evetually decided to give up and move on to painting the images. I gave up largely because I had to keep back tracking and it was taking so long. I’ve kept what I’ve done so far so I can go back to it!
I stamped the house using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, because I wanted to colour using my Stampin’ Blends. Using Light Smokey Slate, I started colouring the roof, and did a little bit of shading. I decided not to introduce the Dark Smokey Slate for shading as I like the colour as it was. To keep the colours tied in with each other, I used the same Light Smokey Slate for the door frame and the beam over the window. I chose Light and Dark Flirty Flamingo for the door and the curtains. The shading on the curtains came out really well, it’s very clearly visible. I chose the light Granny Apple Green for all the plants.
One of the stamps is a small cluster of pebbles, and I used it to create the pathway. Before I started, I put one Post It Note on each side of the door at an angle. My stamping was very order tramadol cod overnight delivery random, and I kept going until it looked like a decent garden path! I sponged the lower part of the card with Granny Apple Green Ink, and the top half with Coastal Cabana Ink. The sky looked very bare even after I had stamped HOME, so I decided to add some birds from the High Tide Stamp Set. Apart from the bird that looks as if he crashed into the roof and broke his wing – I fixed it as best as I could using my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker – the birds completed the picture.
It just needed some bling! I used some dark pink pearls for the shrubs at either side of the house. Next I used Silver Metallic Pearls for the door handle and also to link the top and bottom sentiments. I added a layer of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock (CS) and a layer of Whisper White CS inside the card, but I didn’t decorate it. Maybe I’ll do that later today. Not the usual type of card I make, but it made a change!
That’s about it from me today. I hope you have a fabulous Friday, and I look forward to be back with you on Saturday. In the meantime, happy crafting.
JanB. xx
