Hello, Crafters.
Please don’t forget! If you’re in Europe, you can order up to six packs of Stampin’ Trimmer Cutting Blades (item 126995), TODAY at 19:00 CET/6pm GMT! Unfortunately, I don’t know what the position is in North America or South Pacific. Please check with your demonstrator to find out if this affects you, and if it does, what time can you order! Do you remember recently I said I was going to use as many of my stamp sets as possible before the new catalogue is launched? At the moment it’s 33! Not bad going at all! The stamp set I used for today’s card is the first, and probably last time I’ve used it! I have seven more unused stamp sets but I haven’t checked if they’re retiring or not.
When I was trying to decide on what to do with the Sitting Pretty Stamp Set, I noticed I still have quite a lot of the Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper left over, but I couldn’t find the individual rectangle designs. I decided to have a go with one of the large sheets. After I’d chosen Tranquil Tide as my colour, I cut a piece of the laser cut paper about half an inch larger on all sides than my top layer. I applied glue to as much of the back as possible, and paid particular attention to the areas that would be on the edge of the layer. After I had laid it on top of my Tranquil tide layer, I cut of everything that was overhanging the edge.
Using Grey Granite Ink I stamped the seat on Whisper White Cardstock (CS). Next I stamped the dog in Soft sude for the outline and Soft Suede stamped off once for the infill stamp. Then I stamped three hearts in Tranquil Tide Ink. I only wanted one but there are three dies in the matching Pretty Park Framelits Dies so I thought “Why not?”
After I had I stamped the sentiment in Tranquil Tide, I punched it out using Story Label Punch. Then I put my card together. Next I had the idea of adding one of the trims from the laser cut papers. It was very fiddly, but I like the finished effect! The corners looked alright but not brilliant, so I decided to cover them up. I played with the other two hearts, liked the effect and made three more.
I wanted to add a bit of colour and had a look through my coloured gem stones. It was a toss up between Grapefruit Grove or Mint Macaroon Faceted Dots (current catalogue, page 197, 146910). These colours are retiring, but Faceted Dots will be in the new catalogue in the five new 2019- 2021 In-Colours. I decided that finished off my card beautifully accept the hearts looked a bit flat! I went over them all with our Fine Tip Glue and left it to dry. To decorate inside the card I added a layer of Whisper White CS, and adhered another dog, and adhered the last heart on his chest! I’m pleased with the finished card even though it looks “busy”.
That’s it from me today. I’ll be back of Friday, and in the meantime happy crafting.
JanB. xx
