Hello, Crafters.
My Hugs From Shelli Paper Pumpkin arrived yesterday, and it is absolutely gorgeous! I couldn’t start playing with it straight away because was busy with other things. I made a start just after dinner last night. The kit provides everything you need – except scissors an glue – to make twelve cards. There are three cards each of four designs. The kit also includes twelve matching printed envelopes, die cuts, printed vellum die cuts, and an Early Espresso Ink Spot. There is also a length of Pretty Peacock 3/8″ Velvet ribbon, and a spool each of Linen Thread and a really pretty pink thread. And that’s still not all!The stamp set that’s in the kit would be great on its own – see the photograph above! I love the birds, and the blossom, and there’s a great selection of sentiments. When I make cards with kits, I always try to make them as Thank You cards because I use so many of them. The first card I made uses the two bird stamps – I just couldn’t resist them!
I made all three bird cards yesterday and this is my favourite. Each card differs from the others by the position and angles of the birds. The feathers are ready coloured vellum die cuts. I’m very tempted to order another of these kits so I can make alternative cards. But so far, I’ve more or less stuck to the plan.
The photograph above shows the front and inside of the Pool Party envelope. The card I’ve put with the envelopes is different from the card shown in the previous photograph. The Linen and pink threads come on small cardboard reels which has made the threads quite curly! I used this as a feature of my card by adhering the tails of the bow in a wavy pattern.
You might recognise this second card! It was one of the make-n-takes we were given at the OnStage Convention in Birmingham. I stayed with the design as per the leaflet, and also made them as Thank You cards. I should have taken a close up photograph of the pink thread. I’ll try to remember to do this when I make the next pink card.
This photograph shows the front and back of the co-ordinating envelopes for this card. As with the previous card, the card in this photograph is not the same card as in the previous photograph. Tomorrow I’ll try and make the other two cards, and share them with you in the morning. I’m very aware that this kit is only available until 31st May or while stocks lack, and I want to make sure you know exactly what you get for yout €26/£20 – it’s amazing value!
Yesterday I started working on getting my new catalogues ready to mail out to my customers, no later than Friday. Each year I make a bookmark, which features the new In-Colours, to pop inside each catalogue. I made excellent progress yesterday, and should be able to get them finished today! That’s about it for today. I hope you have a terrific Tuesday, and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. I haven’t forgotten about the Paper Pumpkin I was showing you yesterday. I’ll get back to that very shortly. In the meantime, happy crafting!
