Hello, Crafters.
Don’t forget tomorrow is the day that the global Hugs from Shelli Paper Pumpkin Kit (PPK) will be available BUT only while stocks last! The price in Europe is just €26/£20 which is absolutely amazing! There’s no doubt in my mind that this kit will sell out in no time! If you’re interested in having one yourself, please order ASAP to avoid disappointment! Do you remember this card (below) I shared with you that was one of the make-n-takes we did at OnStage last month? This was from the PPK. I don’t remember seeing the rest of the kit on the display boards at OnStage. To double check, I’ve been through my photographs and cannot find any photographs relating to the kit! The PPK has everything you need to make twelve beautiful cards. There are also twelve matching envelopes.
I had an amazing day yesterday, workwise. It was a day playing catch up after the weekend. I knew the only way I’d get through it all was to put my head down and get on with it! Apart from stopping for the occasional cup of tea, I stuck to my plan. By late afternoon I was back up to speed again. Such a lovely feeling, and well worth the effort.
I was then able to start crafting. My first job was to make three Thank You cards for my customer. To create the first card I used Lemon Lime Twist, which is one of the retiring 2017 – 2019 InColours. This card gave me the opportunity to use the Follow Your Dreams Stamp Set. I felt using feathers made this card less feminine than the others and would be fine to use for a man. I used the stamp that has a single feather image, as well as a double feather image.
To achieve tone on tone, I stamped the feathers randomly in Lemon Lime Twist Ink on Lemon Lime Twist CS. Next I stamped the image twice on Whisper White Cardstock (CS) using Black Memento Ink. I coloured in the small amount of exposed white CS using my Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Write Marker Pen. I added a piece of Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the centre, and wrapped a piece of Linen Thread around and adhered the ends to the back. The sentiment is from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set and has also been stamped with Black Memento Ink.
If I’m not painting a stamped image, and the stamp is photopolymer, I prefer to use Memento Ink because it cleans off the stamp beautifully. Likewise, if I want to use a photopolymer stamp that needs to be coloured, I choose my colours first to make sure I have matching Blends. which go together with Memento ink beautifully! This plan only becomes a challenge when I want to use a partucular DSP that doesn’t have matching Blends!
That’s it from me today. I hope you have a terrific Tuesday, and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow! Happy crafting.
