Hello, Crafters.
Here in the UK today is the May Day Bank Holiday – are you enjoying a Bank Holiday in your country today, as well? All UK SU demonstrators received an email from the Stampin’ Up! UK Office last week, telling us that they have teamed up with the Wycombe Homeless Connection (WHC) for this year’s Day of Service. It’s a charity in High Wycombe that’s leading the fight against homelessness. WHC has a large number of volunteers who give up their time to support the organisation throughout the year. We have been asked if we’d like to offer our support by making and donating thank you cards that WHC can use to say Thank You to their volunteers. I also have a customer who has asked me to make five Thank You cards for her. I decided to combine the two events. Once I have designed a card for WHC, I’ll make a variation of it for my customer!
I made the Daffodil Delight card first and then the Highland Heather card. The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is called Botanical Butterflies, and it was one of the gifts available during Sale-a-bration. My idea of adding one coloured butterfly to the balck and white DSP doesn’t have any kind of impact. I think maybe I should add another two butterflies.
Tomorrow I might try the same idea with the DSP that features a large butterfly. Once I’ve seen what this looks like will help me decide about the small butterfly. I say that but I think I’ve already decided to add two more butterflies to each of these two cards! To decorate the inside of these cards I added a single butterfly. If I do add two extra butterflies to the front of the card, I might add two more inside the card. I’ll keep you posted about what I do with this card!
I chose the Thank You sentiment from the Humming Along Stamp Set which will be retiring on 3rd June 2019. The Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Double-Stitched Ribbon I’ve used will also be retiring at the same time. The ribbon I used on the Highland Heather card is the 1/4″ Mini Striped Ribbon in Gorgeous Grape. I’m pleased that this ribbon, together with Bermuda Bay, is being carried forward to the new cataolgue. Unfortunately the Poppy Parade is retiring!
That’s about it from me today. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.
JanB. xx
