Hello, Crafters.
This weekend we have been promised a heatwave. I hope they’re right and that this is the start of a long hot summer! YAY, bringit on! I have reached 1st June and I’ve still resisted the temptation to use any new products that will be available in the 2019 – 2020 Annual Catalogue. Just three more days before it goes live! Although today’s card uses three stamp sets, they are all being carried forward from this year’s catalogue! When I first took the Enjoy Life Stamp Set off the shelf, I was going to play with the tall grass image. My plans changed and I started working with the bicycle stamp, and Blueberry Bushell Ink. When I had inked the image of the man on the bicycle stamp, I stamped it in the centre of a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock (CS). Next I made a mask by stamping the image onto a Post It Note with the wheels over the sticky part of the Post It Note.
I placed the mask over the stamped image, and stamped the grass image three times so it was all along the bottom of the cardstock. Next I needed to die cut the image. I didn’t have any pre-conceived ideas what shape I wanted to use, it depended on which shape fitted the best. I decided the number 3 square die from the Stitched Shapes Framlits Dies fitted the bill brilliantly. Once I had die cut it, I had quite a lot of blank areas. I filled it in using my Call Me Clover Stampin’ Write Marker Pen. I chose the Blueberry Bliss bicycle design from the Best Route Designer Series Paper (DSP) for the sentiment YOU ARE THE BEST.
I wiped over the DSP with my Embossing Buddy, and stamped the sentiment on the right hand side. The stamp is from the A Big Thank You Stamp Set. After I had covered the image with Whisper White Embossing Powder, I used my Heat Tool to set it. I was so pleased with the result! Next I dry embossed the top layer of Whisper White Cardstock. Just by way of a change, this time I embossed the design so it would be going top to bottom, rather than my usual way of side to side. The Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder looks fabulous whichever way you use it!
I put the front of my card together and decided it needed something extra. After checking the other small images in the stamp set, I decided on HAPPY BIRTHDAY from the Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp Set. I punched it out with the Classic Label Punch, and adhered it to a Blueberry Bushel label I punched out using the same punch.
To decorate the inside of the card I added a layer of Blueberry Bushel CS and a top layer of Whisper White CS. Before I adhered them together, I used the Call Me Clover Ink and the grass stamp and stamped three continuous images along the bottom. In the bottom right hand corner, I stampd the large clump of flowers on the edge. Next I very carefully went over all the flower heads using my Blueberry Bushel Stampin’ Write Marker Pen. I’m very pleased how the Blueberry Bushel worked well as the main colour, with a little bit of Call Me Clover on both the inside and the outside of the card!
That’s it from me today. I hope you have a fabulous weekend whatever your plans are. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow, and in the meantime, happy crafting.
