Hello, Crafters.
Today I used one of the new 3D Embossing Folders which are superseding the Dynamic Embossing Folders (EF). There is a new 3D Embossing Folder Plate available that needs to be used with the EF. (Product code 149658 – €12.00/£9.25). Unfortunately, I forgot to order one as I was wrapped up in organising our wedding. Today I wanted to emboss my top Very Vanilla Cardstock (CS) layer, and decided to go ahead with the Scripty 3D EF without the new plate.
For my first try I used the same sandwich I normally use for my Dynamic EF’s. That is, the Big Shot Platform, EF with CS, and one cutting plate. There was virtually no pressure on the EF at all because it’s a lot slimmer than the Dynamic EF’s! For my second and final attempt, I added the grey rubber mat that came with the Big Shot Embossing Mats we were selling last year. I was surprised how well it worked, although by no stretch of the imagination is the result like a 3D or Dynamic EF.
I decided to use the layer rather than waste it, because I still think it looks good. The Mosaic Mood Designer Series Paper (DSP) has some great designs that really lend themselves to be fussy-cut! As well as fussy cutting two complete humming birds, I also fussy cut two partial birds that were on the edge of the DSP. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set in Soft Suede, and punched it out with the coordinating Timeless Label Punch. After I had layered the Very Vanilla CS onto a Crushed Curry CS layer, I adhered them both on to a card base of Soft Suede CS.
Normally I find finishing off a masculine card a challenge in itself, but it was easy with today’s card! I scattered three antique gold Designer Elements on the front of the card, and the result is a non-dreary, cheerful masculine card! To decorate the inside, I added a layer of Very Vanilla CS, and a layer of Crushed Curry CS. I decorated the top layer by adhering one of the fussy cut partial birds. My final touch was to paint the three birds using my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen.
I’ve just found out that the Stampin’ Up! video I shared with you two days ago, was actually several videos that were on a continuous loop! Apologies for that but I hope you enjoyed watching them, anyway! I’m trying again, and I’m confident that this time I’m sharing just one 1:36 minute video! This video demonstrates a Floral Essence Stamp Set project. I hope you enjoy it.
That’s it from me today. I hope you have a super Saturday and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.
