Hello, Crafters.
I’m taking a quick break, with a cup of tea, from all things wedding! This is the card I made for the swap I took part in a couple of weeks ago. There are two versions here. The first card I made is the one with the three strips of Braided Linen Trim. It was a bit fiddly but I was happy doing it for one card, but not for nine! I changed the trim to three strips of Crumb Cake Cardstock (CS). I also changed the Artisan Share What You Love Coloured Pearl I’d used for the first elephant’s eye. Instead I used a small stamped Pool Party CS circle that was punched out when I punched out the ears that I had stamped in Crumb Cake Ink on Pool Party CS.
The Whisper White CS top layer has been embossed with the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder. Once I had adhered this to the Crumb Cake CS layer, I used my grid paper so I could draw three evenly spaced pencil marks on both sides of the embossed layer. This made it so easy to get the lines straight! The stamp set I used is the Little Elephant which is being carried forward. After I had stamped the elephants, I punched them out using the Elephant Builder Punch.
Next I took a thin strip of Pool Party CS, and laid it on a sheet of scrappaper. Using Crumb Cake ink, I stamped the ears on the cardstock and the rest of the elephant went onto the scrap paper. I was then able to punch out the ears, plus the small circle, which I popped up on Dimensionals on the elephants on the front of the card. Inside the card, I added layers of Crumb Cake and Whisper White CS. I stamped an elephant in the bottom right hand corner, and adhered an ear and an eye with Tombow!
Definitely my style of card, i.e. clean and simple! I may not be able to grab some time to share the swaps with you tomorrow because I have an hair appointment tonorrow afternoon, but I’ll try! ☺ Until next time, happy crafting.
