Hello, Crafters.
Yesterday when I was creating today’s card, I decided to do two things I’ve often thought about doing, but never have! Although I haven’t knowingly ever seen anybody try these two ideas, I daresay they are not new ideas!
The first idea was to have my top layer as half cardstock and half Designer Series Paper (DSP); nothing new so far! Next I embossed the layer using the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder. I’m really pleased with the result of this. If you look at the narrow photograph, you can see the result very clearly. It stands out very well in real life!
The next idea was to wrap the Mossy Meadow Linen Thread criss-cross around the top two layers that I’d adhered together. First, I taped the end of the thread at the top of the back of the two layers with some Tear & Tape. Next I wrapped the thread around the layers, leaving equal gaps between them. When I reached the base, I started to work my way back up to the top, making sure the thread crossed over the first line of thread! After I had checked to make sure the layers were even, I took a small piece of Tear & Tape, and adhered the end to the back of the layers.
I stamped the cow on Shimmery White Cardstock (CS) using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, so I could colour the image using my Stampin’ Blends. The colours I used are Light Basic Black, Light and Dark Granny Apple Green, Dark Daffodill Delight, Bronze, and Light and Dark Soft Sea Foam. When I painted his horns I thought they looked like devil’s horns! LOL!
The Designer Series Paper I’ve used is from Garden Lane, which consists of different designs in various greens only. It’s a lovely set, and I think it’ll be great when a project calls for a neutral design, like my card today.
To decorate the inside of the card I added a layer of Mossy Meadow CS and a top layer of Soft Sea Foam CS. I didn’t like the idea of decorating the inside of the card using head and shoulders of the cow. As the cow is holding a daisy on the front of the card, I decided to make a double layer daisy using the Medium Daisy Punch. I punched two daisies in Shimmery White CS and painted them both
That’s it from me today. Will you give these “experiments ago? I hope so; they’re something a bit different. I’ll be back with you tomorrow, and in the meantime, happy crafting.

Love this card! Like the way you create something different! 🙂
Many thanks, Deanette. I do try and find different ways of doing things but it isn’t always easy! LOL! JanB. xx
Anxious to make this card. What are the little round circles between solid embossed and DSP please.
Warms my heart to see you so happy getting married. You obviously have a solid relationship built on respect, caring, and delight in the other.
Many thanks, Kathie. They are some leftover Faceted Dots from the previous Annual Catalogue. You could omit them, or use a substitute. Yes, Othman is my best friend and my soulmate. I have been truly blessed. JanB. xx
