Hello, Crafters.
I hope this doesn’t make me sound boring, but I’m really happy to be getting back into my routine! Maybe because I get to go back into my studio and start crafting again!
The designs of todays cards isn’t mine. It was inspired by two Christmas cards that were on a Display Board on the Incentive Trip. They were both very simple but had plenty of detail on them. As soon as I saw them I knew I had to give them a try!
My first card was the Merry Merlot Pressed Petals card. Although the cards on display were portrait, I made this landscape so I could use up some scraps I had.
I like everything about this card i.e. the colours, the Designer Series Paper (DSP) designs I used and the retired ribbon.
There isn’t any design inside the card yet, but I’m thinking aout either fussy cutting some flowers from the DSP or stamping some flowers fom the Path of Petals Stamp Set. The sentiment is from the Beautiful You Stamp Set.
Next I decided to make a masculine card. I used Balmy Blue, Night of Navy and Come Sail Away DSP. For this card I cut the DSP in portrait, and didn’t use any ribbon.
This suite includes some gorgeous trinkets – anchors and steering wheels. I chose the anchor as it has a ring at the top to take some Sahara Sand and Night of Navy Baker’s Twine.

This is the first card I saw on the display board, but decided it would be too much like hard work to keep all the lines lined up! I love the simplicity of this card!
I unwound the twine in the same way I demonstrated in yesterday’s video. To adhere it to the card, I applied some Tombow to the back of the trinket and to the back of the twine.

This was the second card from the display board. I still love how simple this card is, even with all the pictures. This set of Designer Series Paper is Real Red and Garden Green. It’s unusual in as much as the deigns on each side are the same except for the colour. I love it! It’s called Toile Tidings. Another unusual aspect of this suite is that there is also some wrapping paper on offer!
One day this week, I’ll video the swaps I received on the cruise, but in the meantime, that’s it from me today. I look forward to be back with you tomorrow. Happy crafting.

Many thanks, JaniceLynn. I think this layout could be used for so many cards, especially by someone who’s trying to use up leftover Designer Series Paper! xx
