Hello, Crafters.
I had a great day yesterday, and made all my card swaps for the Incentive Trip which starts this weekend. As well as today’s card, I also made all my customer Thank You cards! After my shower yesterday morning, I had to prepare a catalogue to be posted so that Othman could take it with him when he went to work. While I was sorting it out, I had a text from Debbie, the lady who organises the Chrurch house group I belong to, letting me know we were meeting yesterday evening! Although I had a lot to do, I said I’d be there, as the meetings we have are brilliant. Knowing I was going out in the evening kept me totally motivated all day. I wasn’t quite able to finish today’s card, but it’s only the sentiment which is missing!
When I first saw the medium sized Daisy Punch, I wanted to make a daisy using both daisy punches. I decided to make it all white, and will add a sentiment that will make it a wedding card. I punched three large and three medium daisies using Whisper White Cardstock (CS). Using my Bone Folder, I curled all the individual petals, and layered the three large and the three medium daisies together. I adhered the smaller daisy inside the larger one by adhering it with three Dimensionals. The rhinestone I used in the centre retired three or four years ago.
To create the leaves, I punched five leaves using the leaf punch and our Vellum CS. I wanted the leaves to look bigger than just three leaves! First, I curled all the individual leaves, and then I removed the middle leaf in two of the sets. Using Tombow, I adhered the two leaves onto the three leaves, so they looked like one set of five leaves. I adhered the leaf I’d cut off higher towards the top leaf. Once theleaves were adhered n position, I painted them with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.
Yesterday my Embossing Plate for the new 3D Embossing Folders (EF) arrived. You may remember I tried embossing with the Scripty 3D EF recently by using a shim. While I was happy with the result, I knew it could be a lot better if I had the correct plate. Boy oh boy – what a difference it makes! The Scripty EF is going to be as popular with me as the Subtle is! Have a look on today’s card to see the result!
I adhered the embossed layer to a larger layer of Whisper White cardstock, using Tear & Tape. I ties some Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around these two layers, and then adhered to the card front. Eventually I ran out of time and couldn’t finish off my card. The only part missing is the sentiment, and I will add that either using Smokey Slate Ink or heat-embossed in Silver.
Today I need to be as motivated as I was yesterday, and make two videos I can post while I’m away. The videos will feature two cards I have already shared with you. I have been requested to make a video of a fancy fold card that one of my subscribers has seen, but she hasn’t been able to fnd any instructions. Before I can make a video of a fancy fold card I haven’t made before, I need time to play with it. It’s important to me that I can give hints and tips on all my projects, and to let viewers know if there are any pitfalls, and how to avoid them. I shall look forward to making this when I get back!
That’s it from me today. I hope you have a lovely day, and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.
