Hello, Crafters.
I received this birthday card from a good Facebook friend, Bea Redd, and she’s agreed to let me share it! I didn’t trouble Bea to give me all the details of what she did, and the instructions below are what I think she did, but if I’m wrong, it’s what she could have done to achieve this beautiful card!
I made a video about a year ago showing how to make this basic style of card, which I called a diagonal fold card, and I’ve put the link at the end of this blog.
Bea used Pool Party Cardstock (CS) for the base of the card. To cover the top triangle she embossed a smaller Pool Party CS triangle using the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder. For the lower triangle, Bea used some Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. To create the top panel, she die cut a layer of Pool Party CS and a slightly narrower layer of Whisper White CS using the Stitched Lace Die. After she had adhered the two layers together, she adhered them to the largest top triangle, using Dimensionals, so it fitted side to side with about a quarter of an inch gap on each side.
The image is from the Free as a Bird Stamp Set, and was stamped in Black Memento Ink on Whisper White CS. I’m going to guess at the Blends’ colours Bea used, starting with the birds:
1). Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, a hint of Purple Posy, and Mango Melody for the beak 2). Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, and Real Red for the beak 3). Mossy Meadow, Mint Macaroon, Pool Party, and Mango Melody for the beak 4). Cajun Craze, Calypso Coral, Mango Melody, and Real Red for the beak
The fowers, leaves and branch are a mixture of Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, and Crumb Cake. On the Whisper White CS layer inside the card, Bea stamped the single bird from the stamp set in Black Memento Ink, as before. To colour this bird, I believe Bea used Cajun Craze, Calypso Coral, Pool Party and Daffodil Delight.
Both sentiments used for this card are from the Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp Set. They have both been stamped on Whisper White CS with Pool Party Ink. The sentiment on the front of the card has been layered on to a piece of Pool Party CS. The dies Bea used are two of the slim Rectangle Stitched Dies.
I’m sure you’ll agree this is a superb birthday card from Bea. This is the link to Bea’s Facebook business page if you’d like to check it out: https://www.facebook.com/QueenBeaScraps/ and this is the link to my video which shows how to make the Diagonal Fold Card if you want to give it a try:
That’s about it from me today. I hope you have a great weekend, whatever your plans are. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow, and in the meantime, happy crafting.
JanB. xx

I enjoyed this card that I am interested in making. It is a beautiful card well made.
Many thanks, Barbara. I totally agree with you. I’m thrilled I was on the receiving end of this card. xx
This card is extraordinary. Did you gust cut the 4 birds and Branch/flowers?
Sorry—that was supposed to be fussy cut!
Thanks so much for your step by step video. It’s the first time I’ve gotten the cut right!
That’s great to hear! Well done. xxx
