Hello, Crafters.
I had a very busy day yesterday getting the new Christmas Catalogues packed into envelopes, addressed, stamped, and finally down to the post box. All my customers should hear their copy of the catalogue land on their doormat on Saturday morning! I always like to make sure the catalogues arrive in time for the Bank Holiday weekend, which is this weekend.
I knew I wanted to use the kangeroo and the giraffe images I created on Wednesday, but I hadn’t planned that to be yesterday. But I was short on time and it seemed a sensible time to use the images. I decided to use the HAPPY BIRTHDAY dies from the Well Written Framelits, and make it the centre of my card. I also wanted to include some Designer Series Paper (DSP), which was part of my plan for my Thursday card but which didn’t quite work out.
Thursday’s DSP was going to be from Garden Lane, but I didn’t feel it was appropriate for today’s card. I decided to use Perennial Essence DSP instead. A large part of the design has been covered up, but if I say it’s the design which looks like Weeping Willow, I’m sure you’ll know which sheet I referring to!
Check out the kangaroo and giraffe’s eyes – I’ve opened them! No surprises there! I didn’t attempt to do anything about the frog’s eye, because I think they’re open already! LOL! I die-cut the bird from the Well Written Framelits dies, and the die cuts out a circle for his eye. It looks a lot better than a closed eye but its still not right! So I had a look at my stash to see what I could use!
My first effort was to use an old metallic candy dot in a creamy colour, but it was too big. I coloured half a black circle using a Sharpie Pen. As I was photographing my card, I decided I didn’t like it one little bit, and I stopped to change it. This time I used a 3mm googly eye which is a great size for this bird. I re-photographed my card except for the side view which I decided to leave so you could see the eye I rejected!
When I was ready to die-cut the sentiment, I checked my box of Adhesive Sheet Backed cardstock (CS) and found a piece of Granny Apple Green CS. After I had die-cut the words, I adhered them onto a piece of Whisper White CS. This left a large amount of white space, so I embossed it using the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder.
To decorate the inside of the card, I adhered a piece of Whisper White CS. I had some Mossy Meadow branches I’d die cut to add to the front of the card but decided not to use them. I adhered one in the bottom right-hand corner, and sat the bird on a branch. I couldn’t add a googly eye inside the card, so I used my pencil to colour a small amount inside the hole. It worked but not brilliantly.
I’m off to the dentist this morning so he can find out where the infection in my gum is coming from! I’ll need something to distract me from what he’ll be doing to me so I shall be thinking about what I can do later today for Sunday’s video. I think I know what I’m doing, but it depends how long I’m with the dentist and how I feel afterwards!
That’s it from me. I wish you have a fabulous Friday, and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.

Many thanks, Debbie. It all went very well, thank you. I have to finish the course of penicillin, but my dentist is confident it will all settle down now! xx

I sure hope your dentist appointment was better than you anticipated!
Really cute card – I think the eye you rejected was quite cute :o)
