Hello, Crafters.
It’s a long weekend here in the UK with Monday being a Bank Holiday. More often than not we have rain whenever we have a Bank Holiday, but not this weekend! The forecast is for the temperature to go up to 31°C! Love it! I’m pleased to report that everything went well at the dentist yesterday! I haven’t mentioned this before, but there’s a story attached to this!
Ten days before our wedding I broke one of my crowns! I was already seeing my dentist about having the crown replaced, and a crown on the next tooth as well. Fortunately, he had already taken the fitting for my replacement crown, and the adjacent tooth. He worked really hard to get me a temporary tooth made and fitted in time for my wedding, because the gap was visible when I smiled!
My dentist had suspected that I’d need root canal treatment, but today he was able to rule that out. He’s not doing anything else to my teeth for six weeks, so they have plenty of time to settle down before he fits the new crowns. He doesn’t want to get the crowns fitted, and then the infection flares up again.
I was in the dentist chair for an hour yesterday, and when I arrived back home, I didn’t feel much like making Sunday’s video. Fortunately, I knew the card I was making, and I needed to make another one to remind me of the process. This was a real blessing because as soon as I started to play, I stopped feeling sorry for myself and made two reminder cards, and then the video.
Next it was time to start work on today’s challenge card using This Little Piggy Stamp Set. I stamped one image of all four pigs and coloured them with the Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends. We definitely need a soft pink in the Blends selection because I think Petal Pink is far too much like coral rather than pink.
I’m not too bothered about how bright the pink is on today’s card because children like bright colours. There were two stamp sets in my collection that have party hats, i.e. Celebrate with Cake Stamp Set which is in the beginner stamper’s buy ativan canada online catalogue, and in the Around The Corner Stamp Set, which is the one I used!
I also added a birthday cake from the A Piece Of Cake Stamp Set. I made candles out of thin strips of Crushed Curry Card Stock (CS) but couldn’t think what to use for the flames. There were candles in the stamp set, but the flames were so small, I gave up trying to fussy cut them! The sentiment is from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set.
The card base is Rococo Rose CS. To decorate the inside of the card I added a layer of Whisper White CS, and I stamped a chocolate cake, with five yellow candles on it! To finish the front of the card I added googley eyes to the pigs. The pig with the flower, had his eye closed, and the other two had black dots. Personally I don’t like googley eyes, but as I keep reminding myself, this is a children’s card!
This morning we’re going into London to see the Master Jeweller who is going to tack my wedding rings together! I’m so looking forward to getting this done! That’s it from me today. I hope you have a fabulous weekend, and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.

Love the card especially the eyes. I sure hope you get over your dental problems soon. I’m staring at gum replacement surgery. They take skin from inside your cheek and graft it onto to the gums to rebuild it. Not excited about it. I like your wedding rings, I think it will be better to have them attached. It must be a nuisance to have them slip around. Take care, Sheron
Oh my goodness, Sheron, I haven’t heard about that treatment before! And I can understand that you’re not excited about it! I’m waitingto hear back from the dental nurse who called me yesterday. I explained what was happening and she said she’d explain it to Amit (dentist) to find out what he wants to do next! Yes, I’m so pleased my rings are all attached now. xx
