Hello, Crafters.
Many thanks for your patience while I took a couple of days off. I’ve had teeth out before but my goodness, this really has been something else! Yesterday I was able to make my paracetamol and codeine last all day without having to top up with a different type of painkiller! That was a huge step forward!
I chose to use the stamp set #Elfie because I have an idea for a card, but I became distracted colouring this elf, and the one I wanted to use is still sitting as a stamped image that needs colouring! The gold I’ve used for the bells and the baubles is from the Delicata Golden Glitz Ink Pad, and was applied using one of our Blender Pens, and it painted beautifully!
However, I’m not sure I should have used it because it isn’t cleaning off as easily as regular ink does. I will keep that Blender Pen separate from the others and save it for the Delicata Golden Glitz; and I’ll use the other end for the Silver Shimmer Ink, and take a second Blender Pen for the Celestial Copper Ink!
The elf had closed eyes, so I had to open them for him! LOL! I didn’t do too well this time as the eyes are very small, but they still look much, much better than closed eyes! The sentiment is from the Cup of Christmas Stamp Set.
To paint the elf I used Stampin’ Blends in Real Red, Call Me Clover, Basic Black, Ivory, and Soft Suede. The stripe Designer Series Paper is from Let it Snow. I was going to use the Ice Stampin’ Glitter for the trim on the hat and jacket, but it looks a bit chunkier than Dazzling Diamonds and I wasn’t in the mood to test it on a scrap of paper first! Next time!
That’s it from me today. Hopefully, I’ll be back again tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.
JanB. xx

Evening Jan. Glad the gums are settling down but you do know that you heal faster if you are not in pain (and take that from a vet!!!).
Please, Jan, could you tell us how you open the eyes. I am thinking you use a white gel pen (in this instance), but as a beginner, I definitely need your tutoring on this please. Dont forget to rest a little more than I feel you are doing. XXX Mal
Many thanks, Mal. I didn’t know you were a vet!?! I will do a quick tutorial – maybe photographic – on drawing eyes soon. I have been resting a lot since I started on the antibiotics – they really knocked me out! I am on the right road now! xxx
Oh Jan, you are having a really bad time of this tooth/gum situation. You really do need to rest and rest. Antibiotics really take it out of your system. Dont forget your probiotics. I retired a few years ago but seem to be working more now than I ever did but I have made the decision a few days ago to stop working with large animals only is really hurting me (at age 73). THANK YOU for doing a tutorial on opening eyes. I so appreciate you. You give so warmly. Only a few days before your trip and honeymoon. Wish you and Othman were coming to Melbourne. Rest Rest Rest. XXX Mal
This is a very cute card Jan. I love little Elfie!!!! TYFS
Many thanks, Claire. Isn’t it a great stamp set? xx
