Hello, Crafters.
Yesterday I received the God’s Peace Stamp Set which I ordered last week. It’s amazing how many times I’ve been through the Christmas Catalogue and missed this set! The image is the easiest kind of image for colouring because the outline is thick. I debated whether I wanted to use Stampin’ Write Marker Pens or Stampin’ Blends – the Blends won! Therefore, I stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
I chose Real Red for the ribbon, so I felt the poinsettia needed to be a separate colour. Using Pale Petal Pink, I painted along the centre lines on the petals down towards the centre, and used Dark Daffodil for the stamens. The pine needles have been painted in Dark Call Me Clover, and the candle flame is in Dark Daffodil Delight. Although it was a pleasure colouring the image, the end result looked rather flat!
To remedy this I used my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen and painted inside the circle around the candle flame and the flame. As always, it isn’t showing up in the photographs, but it looks superb in real life. I carried on with the Wink of Stella and painted the ribbon, the leaves and the poinsettia. The only parts I didn’t paint were the actual candles.
I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set using Memento Ink, and die-cut it using the no. 3 die from the slim dies in the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I adhered it in place using Tombow, and used three of the smallest size Gold Glitter Enamel Dots on each side of THIS CHRISTMAS. This is a clean and simple design that I wanted to add something to the large expanse of the blank areas of the Whisper White Cardstock (CS), but I resisted the temptation!
I used Whisper White CS for my card base and then adhered a layer of Real Red CS. Next I adhered the Whisper White CS image sheet on top. Since I started using my trimmer to cut my cardstock layers, they are lining up so much better than they did before, when I was using my guillotine! To decorate the inside of my card, I adhered a Real Red CS first, and then a layer of Whisper White CS.
To decorate the top layer, I used the other image in God’s Peace Stamp set. I stamped once along the bottom towards the right-hand corner; and I stamped a second time with the image coming down the right-hand side and meeting up – almost – to the first image. I used the same colours as I used on the front of my card to paint the images. Then I went over them with my Wink of Stella pen.
That’s about it from me today. I hope you have a terrific Tuesday and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.
JanB. xx

Beautiful Jan. I also just noticed the stamp set. I am planning to order it soon. I am thinking of stamping on tea stained parchment paper and trying to use my caligraphy skills to write the sentiment. If not I can always stamp.
Debbie
Many thanks, Debbie. What a wonderful skill caligraphy is? xx
Beautiful card Jan. Quite elegant I might add. TYFS
Many thanks, Claire. xx
How did you get the enamel dots so perfectly linear?
Hi, Mary. That was sheer luck, believe me! As you know I struggle with straight lines, but the Enamel Dots just seem to fall into place! xx
