Today’s card is the card I made yesterday but didn’t have time to share. I love these character type cards but they do take a lot of work! I used the Pinewood Planks Dynamic (3D) Embossing Folder for the Soft Suede Cardstock (CS) panel at the top and the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder for the Crumb Cake CS lower part of the front of the card.
I stamped the Father Christmas and the stocking (which are from the Holly Jolly Christmas Stamp Set), and the elf (which is from the #Elfie Stamp Set) onto Whisper White CS using Stazon Ink. The outlines on the images from Holly Jolly Christmas are very fine, and I find them so much easier to colour with Stampin’ Write Marker Pens; hence using Stazon Ink. I used the pen end of my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker Pen to draw some eyes in for Father Christmas – he looks friendly now!
To colour the elf I used Call Me Clover. For the stocking and Father Christmas I used Poppy Parade and Basic Black Markers, as well as Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen for the all the “fur” trims, and a Gold Wink of Stella Glitter Pen for the buckles. The sack has been painted with two layers of Crumb Cake ink, the teddy is one layer Crumb Cake ink with a Soft Suede tummy, one gift is Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody, and the other gift is Call Me Clover and Granny Apple Green!
I used the dies to cut the stocking and Father Christmas, but I didn’t want the white edging all round, so I then fussy cut them. I find fussy cutting a die-cut is much easier than fussy cutting an image on a piece of cardstock! There aren’t any dies to go with the Elfie Stamp Set, so I had some more fussy cutting to do! Once I had finished all three images, I went around the edges with the brush end of my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker Pen, to cover up the visible white areas.
The NO PEEKING is part of the elf stamp, and it was very difficult to cut the sentiment without cutting off some of the letters or still having part of an elbow visible. I cleaned the stamp, and covered the lower part of the elf using some Scotch Tape. After inking the stamp I removed the tape and stamped the sentiment. I was very pleasantly surprised to find the sentiment fitted into the Classic Label Punch beautifully, and I positioned it so it looks like Father Christmas is telling to the elf! LOL!
The sentiment is from my favourite Christmas sentiment stamp set called Itty Bitty Christmas. I stamped it in Stazon on Crumb Cake CS, and die-cut it with the smallest Stitched Shape Oval Die no. 1. It has been layered on a Soft Suede scalloped oval which has been die-cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits die scalloped no. 1.
Inside the card I adhered a layer of Whisper White CS first and then a layer of Crumb Cake CS. The stocking stamp in Holly Jolly Christmas has three different stockings on it, and as I said earlier, the image outline is very thin. I wasn’t happy how they looked after I had painted them, so I created one the same as the one on the front of the card to adhere inside the card in the bottom right-hand corner.
I’m pleased to say my hospital appointment went well yesterday and everything is fine. I had two growths on my back just under my bra strap that started itching about three weeks ago. My doctor said they looked harmless, and referred me to a Consultant to make sure! I don’t remember what the consultant called them, but they’re harmless and he sprayed them with nitrogen to freeze them. They will now disappear!
That’s it from me today. I hope you have a great day and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.
JanB.
