Hello, Crafters.
Yesterday I had my first play with the Mercury Glass Designer Acetate. I’m pleased how this card turned out, although I think it looks a bit busy, but not too busy! LOL! I used one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies to cut the top layer of the acetate. After I had cut a layer of Real Red Cardstock (CS) for the Acetate, I decided to cut the centre with the same rectangle die.
Using regular Scotch Tape, I adhered the Real Red CS rectangle back into it’s frame. I adhered the Acetate to the Real Red CS by spreading a thin layer of Tombow all round the edge. Next I took a Real Red Cs card base and added a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock, and a layer of a Garden Green design from the Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper (DSP).
I adhered the Acetate layer on the card base using Dimensionals. The sentiment I chose is from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set, and I stamped it with Garden Green Ink on Very Vanilla CS. I die-cut the sentiment using the smallest Stitched Rectangle Die. The sentiment needed something extra, and I decided to try fussy cutting some leaves from the Toile Tidings I’d used for the top layer on the card base.
I was pleased how the leaves pulled everything together but something was missing! I had assumed the leaves were mistletoe which meant the berries would be white, but I wanted the berries to be red! I added some Red Rhinestones and now I don’t have a clue what this plant is! LOL! Without a doubt, the red berries certainly added that something extra. I also wanted to add some ribbon but there wasn’t a sensible place so I left well alone!
To decorate the inside of my card I adhered a layer of Garden Green CS and a top layer of Very Vanilla. I fussy cut anothset of leaves from the DSP, and painted them red using my Real Red Stampin’ Write Markers. My final step for the inside of my card was painting the leaves and berries using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen!
I went back to the front of my card, and painted the leaves with my Wink of Stella Pen! I do love some sparkle on my Christmas cards. That’s it from me for today. I hope you have a terrific Thursday and I look forward to being backwith you tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting!
