Hello, Crafters.
Yesterday I pre-ordered one of the new Stampin’ Up! Trimmers, and now I can’t wait to get my hands on it! We had the opportunity to test drive and play with the prototype when we were on the cruise in July. There isn’t anything not to like about it! I think the main concern for everyone is the quality of the cutting blades. When we were going through all that turmoil with the blades for the previous trimmer, I didn’t hear what the actual problem was – today I found out!
During the manufacturing process, the cutting blades for the old machine were beng sharpened by hand! The blades for the new trimmer are being sharpened by machine. This is a huge plus for the new trimmer. There is an improvement with the scoring blade, too. If you’ve ever watched a video where I’ve used my trimmer as a scoreboard, you will have seen me use either my bone folder or my scoring tool
The new scoring blade has a strip of wire/metal around the part that actually does the scoring, and creates a much better scoreline! Other features of the new trimmer include a much larger base, and being able to cut up to 17″! Our Grid Paper is 17″ wide, and in the Christmas Catalogue there is the Toile Tidings Gift Wrap which measures 24″ x 36″! There hasn’t been a date announced when the Trimmers will be available for customers. I think there are two reasons for this. Firstly, Stampin’ Up! want to make sure they have the correct stock levels so that this product doesn’t go on backorder.
Next month there is going to be a special promotion called Christmastime is Here Suite. It’s currently available to Demonstrators to buy on pre-order. The reasoning behind the pre-order is that we have the opportunity to play with the products before they go on general release. Whilst I think this is a great idea, I won’t be sharing projects I make with the products until customers can buy it.
There will be plenty of demonstrators, especially hobbyists who will make and share their projects largely on Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram. If you’re on social media you’lll have plenty of opportunity to see projects with the Christmastime is Here Suite. I ordered the complete bundle today with the exception of the bracelet. It’s really gorgeous, but I probably wouldn’t wear it!
Stampin’ Up! have produced a short video to share the products and some projects with you, too. I have downloaded some of the images to share with you as well. This suite will be available to customers as from 1st November 2019 while stocks last. One thing to notice in this suite is that the two box stamp set; there ia a cling stamp in the box with the single image, and the other box has photopolymer stamps.
That’s it from me today. I hope you’ve enjoyed this preview of things to come. I look forward to being here with you tomorrow but with one of my projects! In the meantime, happy crafting.
