Hello, Crafters.
I’m really not one for using stickers and toppers on my cards, but I just could not resist these stunning stickers from the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley! (See page 39 in the Christmas Catalogue)! The sentiment is from the So Many Stars Stamp Set, and I stamped it on a 1.25″ strip of Whisper White Cardstock (CS) so I could use it as a banner across the front of my horizontal card.
I embossed the banner using the Subtle Dynamic/3D Embossing Folder to make the background different from the background of the leaves and berries. With the aid of my grid paper, I worked out where I wanted to position my banner. I drew some feint broken pencil lines above and below the banner, so I knew where to position my stickers.
I tried to make sure the design was very relaxed and natural-looking, but I didn’t find it as easy as I thought it would be! LOL! After I had finished the top half of the card, I turned it around and did the lower half. When I was happy with the top and bottom sections of the card, I used my eraser to remove any pencil marks that would be visible once the banner was adhered in place.
Using Tombow, I adhered the banner across the Whisper White CS layer and trimmed off the small overhangs I had on each end. Next, I adhered the top layer to a layer of Old Olive CS. I wanted to add some embellishments but I wasn’t sure what! When I checked through my rhinestones, pearls, sequins, enamel dots, etc., I couldn’t find anything that I thought would add that little something extra.
As I looked around my desk, I saw the stars on the sheets of stickers. They looked a good size, but they were white so I used my Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Marker Pen to paint them green! They were exactly what was needed, and I wished I’d thought about it before I had embossed the banner. It would have been great to have the stars embossed into the banner! But never mind, it wasn’t meant to be, and they still look good as they are.
As I was looking at what I thought was my finished card, I decided the white of the banner disappeared into the white of the back of the card! When I made my review video of the new trimmer, I discovered it’s very easy to cut a very thin slice of cardstock. I took a long piece of Old Olive CS from the packet, and used my trimmer to cut two lengths that were 1/8″ wide – I’m loving my new trimmer!
I adhered the strips, one top and one bottom, along the banner. It made the whole card really pop! My final job for the front of the card was to paint all the berries using my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen. To decorate the inside of the card I added a top layer of Whisper White CS, onto a layer of Old Olive CS. I chose one of the bigger stickers to decorate the inside bottom right-hand corner.
Although I started today’s blog saying I don’t like using stickers or toppers when I’m card making, I have found that I have bought two or three of the kits Stampin’ Up! have released over the last couple of years……………..and I have loved them all! Looks like times they are a-changing! That’s it from me today. I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting!

Jan, there is no way I would have picked the sentiment up as being a sticker. XX Mal
Hi, Mal. It’s just the leaves, berries and stars that are stickers. I stamped the sentiment. xx
