Hello, Crafters.
I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend. On Saturday I was really thrilled to see that the number of my YouTube subscribers had hit 35,000! When I first starting making tutorials, I never dreamed that I’d ever hit a really high number of subscribers! I was really blown away by reaching this milestone! Many thanks to all my subscribers, THANK YOU.
To create today’s card I have used the So Many Stars Stamp Set, and the matching Stitched Stars Dies. The gold stars background is one of the card fronts that came with the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley. I started by die cutting a medium-sized Stitched Heart, using some Thick Whisper White Cardstock (CS). Next, I die-cut five more Whisper White CS stars and adhered them one on top of the other.
By doing this, I give the star the dimension I want it to have but without using Dimensionals. This is just one of those things I do occasionally because it’s something different! I used Gold Foil to die cut the star which I’ve adhered on the top of the Thick Whisper White CS star. Next I die-cut the five points I’ve adhered in each of the gaps between each every two sides of the star.
It looks as if the five gold points are one large gold star that’s sitting underneath the white star! The sentiment is from the stamp set and is a great size for fitting across the front of the card. I had the choice of heat embossing the sentiment in Gold, or stamping it using the Delicata Golden Glitz Ink. The winner was the heat embossing! I love the font used for the sentiment!
To decorate the inside of the card, I added a layer of Gold Foil, and then a layer of regular Whisper White CS. I die-cut a star similar, but smaller, to the Gold Foil star that I adhered to the multi-layered Thick Whisper White CS star on the front of the card. Then I used Tombow to adhere the star in the bottom right-hand corner. The final touch was to add a Gold Faceted Gem in the centre of the Gold Foil star, and two Gold Enamel Glitter dots either side of the sentiment.
This is all it took to make a very striking card! If you don’t like the idea of die-cutting six Thick Whisper White CS stars, you can die-cut one and adhere it with Dimensionals. That’s it from me today, and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.
