Hello, Crafters.
I hope you’ve had a great weekend. On 5th November it was Hubby’s birthday so I took him out for dinner on Saturday evening. We went to our favourite local restaurant called Singapore Orchid. The menu is a great selection of Singaporean dishes, as well as well-known street food. We’ve been going to this restaurant for fifteen years which has given us the opportunity to get to know Ananda, the lady who owns and runs Singapore Orchid, very well!
Since I’ve been diagnosed as Coeliac, eating out has lost a lot of its attraction, but Ananda goes out of her way to make sure I can enjoy as many of my old favourites as possible! On Saturday I had Claypot Curry Chicken and Rice, and Hubby had Nasi Lemak which is fried chicken with anchovy paste and rice. We also shared a bowl of Pak Choi with Garlic. It was superb!
After Church on yesterday, Hubby and I took a drive to Kingston because I needed to go to Marks & Spencer’s, and we also wanted to buy a new suitcase from John Lewis. The journey normally takes about twenty-five minutes, but we were caught up in roadworks and the journey was about one and a half hours! SatNav wasn’t much help so I assume whichever way we went there was a snarl-up!
We eventually parked in the multi-storey car park in Kingston and set about doing the five things on our shopping list. Once we were done we made our way back home, arriving here at about 5 pm. Although we were successful in Kingston, we both feel we lost a lot of time yesterday. After sorting out my chores once I was home, I didn’t have time for crafting; hence no card today!
On a brighter note, with Hubby’s help, I have about eighty swaps ready for OnStage this week. I have another twenty that need to be finished, so that’ll be one hundred swaps for me to share with you when I get back from Germany next Sunday! We leave for Dortmund on Wednesday at 7 am, travelling all the way by train! The OnStage Convention starts with CentreStage on Wednesday evening, and then we have the following three days of training, presentations, etc.
My plans for today include making a video that I can schedule to post next Sunday, and finish off the last few swaps! Once these are done, I’ll be ready for OnStage. I think that’s about it for today and I shall look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.
JanB. xx
Happy Birthday to your husband. Have a great trip to OnStage. I am looking forward to seeing your swaps. I wanted to go to OnStage in Lansing, Michigan USA but I couldn’t get off from work. Have fun!❣️
Many thanks, France. I’ll pass your birthday wishes on. How disappointing not to be able to get time off work! xx
