Hello, Crafters.
I hope you have had a great weekend and are well-organised for Christmas. Yesterday evening, I went to the Candlelight Service at the Church and the atmosphere was superb! Although ours is a small Church, our choir are amazingly talented. In one of the songs, two of the ladies had to hit some really high notes and they were magnificent. After the service, we went through to the lounge for some mulled wine and hot mince pies! I took a gluten-free mince pie with me although I didn’t eat it!
Yesterday afternoon, Hubby helped me putting copies of the new Mini (formerly known as the Spring/Summer) Catalogue, the Sale-a-bration (SAB) Brochure, and a personal letter from me to all my customers who have shopped with me during the past twelve months. It’s just so amazing how much quicker jobs like this are when there are two of you doing it!
My first job today will be finishing the job by adhering postage stamps to them all, and then into the post. I think it’s unlikely my customers will receive them before Christmas, but as it’s so close, I’m sure most of them won’t be too bothered. Once they are all posted, I’m going to slow down and start concentrating on my last-minute jobs chores.
.Today, I’m sharing the Thank You cards I told you I’d made recently using the Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Cards & Envelopes. I’d purchased the pack ages ago and had only made a couple of cards. The pack contains twenty cards with matching envelopes. I have another three that I made last week which I’m sharing here, which leaves me another fifteen to create!
The actual card size is 4¼” x 6¼”. The sizes of the other cardstock (CS) and DSP I use are as follows. Inside the silver-lined rectangle, I use a piece of colour co-orindated CS which measures 3″ x 4 1/8″, and the DSP on top should be 2 7/8″ x 4″. The layers inside the card should be: first layer 4″ x 6″, and the top layer 3 7/8″ x 5 7/8″. It would look better if the inside layers were the same size as the front, but it depends on how much space you need for writing on.
The first card I made (Mint Macaroon) I used a design from the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper. When I was looking for a scrap of Mint Macaroon for the sentiment, I noticed the stamped and fussy cut image from the retired Petal Palette Stamp Set. I decided to add that onto the front in the bottom right-hand corner. I chose the THANK YOU sentiment from the Magnolia Blooms Stamp Set.
I used the Mosaic Mood DSP for the second card, and chose Crushed Curry for the CS. To add a little something to this card, I fussy cut one of the large butterflies from the DSP and adhered it just under the sentiment, popped up on Dimensionals. I used the same sentiment as before, and die cut it using a Layering Oval Die, and adhered it to a Crushed Curry layer which I’d die cut using a Stitched Shape oval die.
The third card I made (Seaside Spray) has some Woven Threads DSP as the top layer. There wasn’t anything that inspired me to decorate this card with, so I wrapped a piece of the ¼” Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon around the top two layers and tying it in a bow at the front! As with the first two cards, I used the THANK YOU sentiment from the Magnolia Blooms Stamp Set.
The pack of cards includes envelope liners that have a green leafy design on one side and plain white on the reverse. I was quite happy with the leaf design on the first two cards because there is green in the DSP, but it didn’t look right with the Seaside Spray design from the Woven Threads DSP! I turned the envelope liner around and used the plain white side. Sometime later when I was tidying up, I thought I should have stamped my own design on the white side – watch this space!
That’s it from me today. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow, and in the meantime, happy crafting.

These are just beautiful Jan. I’ve yet to try using the craft card. Not sure why, but you may have just reformed me in trying it. On my next shopping extravaganza I’ll have to invest a package. TYFS
Many thanks, Claire. It’s lovely to have something different from the regular card base, and matching envelopes is a great bonus. xx
