Hello, Crafters.
Apart from six cards I’ve held back because I need to add special notes to them, all my Christmas cards plus newsletters have been posted! First thing today, I will finish off the last six and get them in the post, too! When I was out and about yesterday morning, I bought myself a small diary for my handbag. Hopefully, this will stop me from keep double-booking myself! I have just made a note on Saturday, 5th December 2020 “get Christmas cards written and posted!” LOL!
Today’s card is a regular style layout, and I’ve chosen the image and one of the designs of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) to complement each other! The deer is from the Nature’s Beauty Stamp Set which is featured on the inside back cover of the Christmas Catalogue. It is part of Stampin’ Up!’s Making A Difference efforts and they will donate €3/£2.50 from every stamp set sold to mental health organisations. I’m pleased that this stamp set is being carried forward after the Christmas catalogue retires!
I started my card with a Pear Pizzazz Cardstock (CS) card base, and added a layer of Whisper White, followed by a layer of the reindeer design DSP from the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley, which is being carried forward to the 2020 Christmas catalogue! The band across the centre is from the same pack of DSP and features Christmas trees. I layered this piece onto a layer of Whisper White CS to accentuate the move from one design to another.
I stamped the deer on a piece of Whisper White CS using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. To die-cut the image I used the stitched shape die that’s in the Wild Rose Dies, which is an ideal size for this image. I painted the deer using my Light Granite Grey Stampin’ Blend, but I didn’t try to add any shading as it has already been done in the image. Using a wet glue pen I added some spots for snowflakes and then I painted over the ground the deer was standing on. Then I sprinkled some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter over the wet glue.
The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set (this is also being carried forward), and it has been stamped on Whisper White CS using black Memento Ink. I used the Classic Label Punch to punch it out. The image and the sentiment have both been adhered to the card front using Dimensionals. To finish off the front of my card I was going to fussy cut a green bow for the reindeer, but a pink bow that had already been fussy cut fell out of the bag, so I used it. I did this on a previous card I’d made using this image, and I liked the pop it added to the earlier card!
To decorate the inside of my card, I added a layer of Whisper White CS, to which I’d stamped the top half of the deer image in the bottom right-hand corner. I painted the deer, in the same way, I did the one on the front of the card using my Light Grey Granite Stampin’ Blend. Needless to say, I also added a fussy cut bow in pink! Although I have called this a regular style of layout, I think it has worked out exceptionally well, largely because of the two designs of DSP I’ve used.
I hope you all heard that the Clearance Rack has been updated? There are some great bargains to be had with some prices reduced by up to 60%. If this is the first you’ve heard of this, why not sign up for my email newsletter group? Normally I send out one email a month, but I send additional emails if Stampin’ Up! announce additional offers we didn’t know about previously, e,g. the Free Delivery Day, and the Clearance Rack Update. There’s a form at the top of the page where you can sign up.
That’s about it from me for today. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow, and in the meantime, happy crafting.

Beautiful card my dear, as always. Love the deer & especially the one on the inside. Stunning. TYFS
Many thanks, Claire. I’m glad you like the deer inside as well. I wasn’t sure if half a deer would look right, so I tested it on a piece of scrap paper before I decided to go for it in the card! LOL! xx
