Hello, Crafters.
I received several requests to show how I made the teabag folding card I shared on Friday. Before I started the video, I had a great time playing with different options. This finished up with me including a Christmas Tree ornament in the video as well. It was like a brilliant walk down memory lane when I used to do a lot of teabag folding!
The swap that inspired me to make my card had three sections to the Christmas tree, the card I shared on Friday had four sections, and the card I made during the video had five sections. When I decided to make the Christmas tree I decided to make it four sections. I know we’re always told we should work in uneven numbers, but the four section tree looks every bit as good as the three and five sections trees!
When I made the video, I didn’t stop to decorate the tree, but said I’d get it done in time for today’s blog. Confession time again! I was stuck for something to decorate the green video card with, although I had it in my mind something red. I tried with some small stars I punched in Red Foil, and I tried very small Red Foil dots. What I wasn’t happy with was that the red foil was too bright.
I checked all the bits and pieces I had, but there wasn’t anything that really rocked my boat! I decided to have a look in my box of new products from the forthcoming Spring/Summer Catalogue. I knew I had a tub of sequins and flower sequins which are part of the Poppy Suite. When I took them out of the box I noticed another tub, called From My Heart Faceted Gems.
I dismissed the Poppy sequins, but liked what I saw in the Faceted Gems. They all had a backing of red, pink or white. I picked out the smallest two sizes of the red ones and really liked what I saw. It was a painstaking job of adhering them randomly on the tree, but the red wasn’t a bright red, and it went really well with the Garden Green. The Designer Series Paper (DSP) i used was Toile Christmas.
Next I wanted to decorate the tree on the Poppy Parade card. This was so very much easier because the Red Rhinestones blended in brilliantly with the cardstock and the DSP, which is from the Christmastime is Here Suite. I decided not to decoarate the Tree Ornament just yet but I might put rhinestones on it so the lights from the real Christmas tree will cause lots of reflections!
That’s it from me today. I hope you have a very blessed Sunday, and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow, In the meantime, happy crafting.
JanB. xx

I love this card Jan. That tree is wonderful. Will be making the ornament for sure, since my cards are all done. I may make one as a sample for myself though!!! TYFS
Hi, Claire. I’m glad you’re making the tree. I have two to hang on our tree now. xx
Hi Jan, I have just started to follow you and receive your posts. I so loved this one, I bought a Tea Bag folding book a 100 years ago and couldn’t quite master it. This video made it seem so simple although a bit fiddly. We have an ice storm raging in Ontaio, Canada right now so into the craft room for the day. I will be trying out the Tea Bag Christmas Tree.
Thank you I look forward to further posts.
Are you located in England? We immigrated from Middlesex in the 60’s so love the accent it is very calming.
Sincere regards, Helen Whitehead
Hi, Helen. I hope your weather calms down soon. I’m not sure what an ice storm is but it doesn’t sound like something I’d like to experience. But at least it does give you some good quality time in your craft room! I’m a visual learner too, and I was taught in a class. You’re spot on that it’s easy but fiddly. The end result makes it so worthwhile! Yes I’m in Surrey, so not far from Middlesex! xx
Hey Jan, love the tree and have seen them many times. I have tried to master making one but never got past that fold. After watching your video I made a tree. Your instructions were so easy to follow, did have a little trouble with the smallest one. As you said it was a bit fiddly and it was. Thank you so much for sharing. I check your blog every morning and love it. HELEN US

Hi Jan, What a fun card! I watched your video and made two trees right away. Now I need to decide if I’m going to turn them into ornaments or cards! Your finished card is lovely. I am seeing so many fun folds and projects on your cards and can’t wait to try more. I subscribed to your blog!
Many thanks for your support Laura. This was one of those projects where I couldn’t stop once I had started which is why I ended up with cards and baubles. xx
