Hello, Crafters.
I hope you’ve had a great weekend. After Church yesterday Hubby and I went to our local B&Q Superstore – it’s the UK’s biggest DIY store. We needed a new stepladder and Hubby had tried getting one online but decided he’d be happier being able to see exactly what he was buying before he bought it! Our trip was very successful; not only did we find exactly what we wanted but it was cheaper than online!
Today’s birthday card has been made using the fabulous Forever Blossoms Stamp Set. It has a set of co-ordinating dies called Cherry Blossoms. There’s another bundle that co-ordinates with this; the stamp set is called Parisian Beauty and the dies are called Parisian. All four of these products are part of the Parisian Blossoms Bundle which includes the rhinestones, ribbon (shown on my card), the Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder. All these products can be seen on pages 14 – 17 in the Mini Catalogue.
I have three new (to me) 3D Embossing Folders (EF), but not the Parisian. The three I have are the Coastal Weave which is part of the Tropical Oasis Suite which is the Mini Catalogue (page 39). The second EF is the Stone which is available as part of a bundle as a Sale-a-bration (SAB) gift with the fabulous Power of Hope Stamp Set. This can be seen in the SAB Brochure (page 15). The third EF is Hammered Metal which was in the Christmas Catalogue and has been carried forward.
I think the Parisian Blossoms Suite will be my second favourite in the Mini Catalogue. The first time I used the floral image on the front of my card was when it was part of our Make-n-takes we had when we went to OnStage in Dortmund last November. I shared the card we made here on my blog together with the card we made with products from the Poppies Suite.
The EF I used for the top layer on today’s card is the Coastal Weave. I stamped the floral image on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock (CS) using Memento Ink. To colour the flowers I used the Light and Dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends, and light Mossy Meadow for the leaves. It’s a stunning image which I found easy to paint. I used the matching die to die-cut it.
I chose the HAPPY BIRTHDAY sentiment from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set, which I have used several times recently; yes, I really like it! Yesterday I die-cut it using the single oblong die in the Stitched Rectangle Dies – sizewise they were made for each other! I played with the arrangement of the two pieces until I was happy! I adhered the sentiment in place first, using Dimensionals. Once that was in place I was able to adhere the floral image, also using Dimensionals.
To complete the front of the card I added some of the fabulous Champagne Rhinestones Basic Jewels (151193) in the centres of the four open flowers. I also added a line of three small rhinestones, just above the word HAPPY. Next, I tied a small bow using the Petal Pink 1/4″ Metallic-Edge Ribbon (151194) which I adhered with a Mini Glue Dot and a small dot of Tombow!
Inside the card, I added a layer of Petal Pink CS and a top layer of Whisper White CS. Using Memento Ink and a piece of Whisper White CS, I stamped the small flower and the double leaves from the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set. Using the same Stampin’ Blends as before, I coloured the flower and the leaves. After I’d die-cut them using the matching dies in the Cherry Blossoms Dies, I adhered the leaves behind the flower and then adhered them both in the bottom right-hand corner.
I’m definitely going to get a lot of enjoyment playing with this Suite; I hope you’ll enjoy it, too! That’s it from me today. I hope you have a marvellous Monday, and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.
JanB. xx
