Hello, Crafters.
What is it about bees that many of us have a love-hate relationship with them? I love the new Honey Bee Stamp Set and the matching dies but if a bee comes buzzing within three feet of me when I’m outside enjoying some nice weather, I go into panic mode squealing like a demented I-don’t-know-what! I know wasps (?) are the ones that sting but when I’m panicking I don’t stop and think about that, even less to try and identify what the pesky thing is – bee or wasp? LOL!
The Honey Bee Stamp Set (151527) and matching Detailed Bees Dies (151526) are on page 30 in the Mini catalogue. If you order the two products as a bundle (153792) you’ll save 10% off the individual prices. The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is called Golden Honey Specialty DSP and is available as a Sale-a-bration (SAB) gift. The DSP is black and white with gold foil accents on some sheets. Some of the images can be die-cut using the Detailed Bees Dies!
I started my card with a base in Basic Black Cardstock (CS), then a layer of Daffodil Delight CS and a top layer of DSP. Inside the card, I added a layer of Daffodil Delight CS and a top layer of Whisper White CS. I adhered the DSP to the layer of Daffodil Delight CS and adhered three strips of some very old Stampin Up! Ribbon I bought when I first become a demo! If you want to create the same effect without using ribbon, use three strips of Daffodil Delight CS instead!
I stamped several large and several small bees on Whisper White CS using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. When I was preparing for last Sunday’s video, I made two extra Whisper White CS Stitched Labels die-cuts and stamped HAPPY BIRTHDAY at the top using Memento Ink. I decided to use one of them for today’s card and spent some time playing with various arrangements with large and small bees. Once I had decided where to put them, I adhered them in place using Dimensionals.
The sentiment was from the Precious Moments Stamp Set. Although it isn’t easy to see, I painted the bees wings with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen. As usual, I did try and take a photograph to show the glitter. I just about managed – I think! – but the photograph is rather blurred but I’ve still shared it with you because you kindly accept I’m a cardmaker, not a photographer! LOL!
I adhered one of the small bees in the bottom right-hand corner on the top Whiper White CS layer inside the card. Looking at the front of my card as I write, another idea instead of the Daffodil Delight Ribbons is to add a strip gold and white DSP. I haven’t tried it so I don’t know if it would work ar not. I’m happy with my card as it is, but it was just a thought!
That’s it from me today! I hope you have a terrific Tuesday. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow, and in the meantime, happy crafting.
