Sale-a-bration Kerchief All-Inclusive Card Kit

Uncategorized

10 Jan

Hello, Crafters.

Have you seen this card kit in the Sale-a-bration Brochure? It was one of the first gifts I chose because I think the cards are just so pretty! Yesterday I was working on my card for this Sunday’s video, and it’s quite a challenge. When I needed to take a break, I decided to make the cards in this all-inclusive card kit. The biggest change I made is the sentiment; they all say THANKS or THANK YOU.

When you look at the photographs, if you think some/all of the branches look black, they are actually gold. As you know, I’m not a photographer! I started on the Poppy Parade cards first. The sentiment should be THINKING OF YOU and comes ready printed. I chose to use the THANK YOU stamp from the Hugs From Shelli Paper Pumpkin kit because it fitted into the die-cut label really well.

In the kit there are four Thinking of You printed labels in English, four in German and four in French. I put the four English labels to one side and used the remaining eight. I turned the first four over and stamped THANK YOU using Early Espresso Ink. It was a shame that I had to lose the line that was drawn around the edge of the label but I can live with that. When I pop images or sentiments up on Dimensionals, I don’t like there to be any stamping on the back of the image!

To cover the sentiment on the back of my new sentiment, I glued one of the other eight labels on the back so the clean side was outermost! When I first started working on the Poppy Parade cards I couldn’t work out how to get the lighter pink centre because I couldn’t find anything in that colour in the kit. Then the penny dropped, it was vellum! I’d seen the four pieces of vellum with gold dots, so I went through all the bits again until I found the clear vellum! DOH!

The kit has some great small glue dots to adhere the leaves to the card front. They are a great size – smaller than our regular Glue Dots, but they come on an acetate sheet with backings on each dot! I found it very time-consuming using the glue dots and started using Tombow instead; then I was really motoring! I put the unused glue dots in my adhesives box and I’ll use them when time isn’t of the essence!

After I had put two Poppy Parade cards together, I decided I didn’t like all the gold leaves together because they blended into each other too well. Although the leaves are called large leaves and small leaves, I think the small leaves look more like flowers. I decided to turn them over and put Tombow on the gold side so the white side was facing up! This made an amazing difference! The instructions said to adhere the bow slightly under the label but I adhered mine on the label.

When I had finished all four of the Poppy Parade cards, I started on the Coastal Cabana cards. I changed the sentiment labels the same way I did before. I stamped using Night of Navy Ink and chose a stamp from the A Big Thank You Stamp Set! I fish-tailed the right side and left the left side as it was because I knew I’d be hiding it behind the flower. Instead of using two large and one small gold leaves, I used one of each, both the correct way round!

en I made the second card, I changed the small leaves – flowers – round so the white side was visible. Like before, I also put my bows on the sentiment. I decided to turn the fourth and final card to landscape mode and I think this is my favourite out of the four Coastal Cabana cards. I’m so pleased with these cards, I’ve already ordered another set as a Sale-a-bration gift!

I send out so many Thank You cards each month, that when I see an opportunity like this where I can make eight special thank you cards for free, I’ll make the most of it while I can. Ohh! I forgot! The kit also comes with eight envelopes, four with the inside decorated in a co-ordinating Balmy Blue pattern. The four envelopes for the Poppy Parade cards are decorated with Petal Pink (I think) which has been used in the design on the card.

That’s about it from me for today. I hope you have a fabulous Friday and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.

JanB. xx

I like the pink one better, but they both equally as beautiful!!! Looks like an amazing kit for sure. TYFS

I think most crafters prefer the pink one best. Although I prefer the colour Coastal Cabana, I feel the flowers on the Poppy Parade card are distinct from each other whereas the Coastal Cabana flowers seem to blend in more closely. xx
