Hello, Crafters.
Yesterday afternoon, hubby and I went to the Royal Albert Hall to see Cirque de Soleil present Luzia. This is about the seventh or eighth show we have seen and it is certainly one of the best. The best part was when there was water coming down from the high ceiling like rain. It was coming down in patterns and shapes, like trees, leaves, face masks, stars, etc. We have never seen anything like it. How they achieved this was absolutely mind-boggling!
The acrobatic displays were, as always, totally amazing! Even after seeing several of these shows I still gasp out loud with some of the jumps they do! When the show was over, we caught a taxi to the Mango Tree Restaurant, which is probably the top Thai restaurant in London. We had a super meal which finished off a super day beautifully! The restaurant is very close to Victoria Station so we were very well placed for our journey home
Have you seen the Easter Promise Stamp Set? It is really gorgeous! On 29th January I shared another Easter Card I made using this stamp set! The card featured the large image which is of three larger crocuses, and today it’s the turn of the little carpet of crocuses! There are five stamps in this set and I have used them all. They are the two crocus images, the cross, and the two sentiments I have used on this card.
I have stamped all the images and sentiments directly onto the Whisper White Cardstock (CS) using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. For the colouring, I used my Stampin’ Blends, i.e. Light & Dark Highland heather for the crocus flowers, Dark Granny Apple Green for the leaves, and Dark Daffodil Delight for the centres of the flowers. I wanted the cross to be gold and after some umming and erring, I decided to use the Dark Daffodil Delight plus Dark Granny Apple Green for the leaves.
I adhered three Gold Metallic Pearls around the cross so the eye convinces the brain that the cross is gold…………………..unless it works the other way round and the eye tells the brain the pearls are Daffodil Delight! LOL! To keep the design of my card simple I stamped the HAPPY EASTER sentiment towards the top of the Whisper White CS layer using Memento Ink.
My final touch for the front of my card was to paint the crocus flowers using my Clear Wink of Stella Pen. I think I’ve managed to capture the sparkle in the photograph of the tilted card below. Inside the card, I added a layer of Gorgeous Grape CS and a top layer of Whisper White CS onto which I stamped the second sentiment, which is a verse: MAY THE PROMISE OF HIS WONDERFUL GIFT FILL YOUR HEART WITH PEACE & JOY.
That’s about it from me today. I hope you have a great weekend and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.
