Hello, Crafters.
Yesterday I made Sunday’s video using the Grace’s Garden Stamp Set. It was my first play with this set and I loved it! Everything went according to my regular pattern when working on a video. That is, I make the prototype first, then I make another one – sometimes the same, sometimes different – immediately before videoing. When I start videoing I normally repeat the second card but occasionally I change the design.
Yesterday the prototype was a masculine card, then I used Grace’s Garden for the second card, and that’s what I used for the video card. However, I wasn’t sure it was going to work because I wasn’t sure if using the one colour I’d chosen would be right. While I was prepping for the video I stamped, coloured and die-cut three each of all the images I wanted to use. I also had three images in the previous colour so I was happy I had enough images whichever way my video design went!
The plus side is that I had more than enough images leftover to make today’s card. I started with a Pool Party Cardstock (CS) card base, then a layer of Whisper White CS layer and a top layer of Pool Party CS. After I stamped the sentiment – OF ALL THE BLOSSOMS IN LIFE’S GARDEN, FRIENDSHIP IS THE MOST FRAGRANT – on the top layer using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, I embossed the layer using the Subtle Dynamic (3D) Embossing Folder.
I adhered the layers together and then adhered the arch so it framed the sentiment. Next, I chose two of the tall flower images that had been coloured using the Light Old Olive and Dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blends, to go on either side of the gate. I used Dimensionals to pop them up to give my card depth, and then started arranging and re-arranging the other images around them but decided less was more!
To give my card some personality I adhered a cat on a Dimensional looking up at a bird I’d also popped up on a Dimensional who was sitting on top of the flowers on the right-hand side. As usual, it can’t be seen but I have painted all the flowers using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen! My final touch was adding three Coastal Cabana Holiday Basic Rhinestones in vertical lines in the top left-hand and right-hand corners. I think these were in the Christmas Catalogue.
Inside the card, I added a layer of Whisper White CS and a top layer of Pool Party CS. I decorated the bottom right-hand corner of the top layer with a medium-sized group of flowers which have been coloured using the Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blend. I perched a bird on top of the middle flower, and of course, I had to have the cat as well so I put him in the bottom left-hand corner!
My final touch inside the card was to paint the flowers using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen. I wasn’t sure whether to add a small HAPPY BIRTHDAY sentiment to the front – what do you think? The delivery with my customer’s free product for January that I was expecting today, arrived yesterday at 8.50 am! My UPS guy is simply the best! So today I can get straight on with getting all the happy mail packaged up and posted!
Then I have one very special Valentine card to make for a friend of mine to give her husband and then I’ll be free to go out for the day tomorrow! Another busy day but it beats doing a “proper” job! LOL! That’s it from me today! I look forward to being back with you tomorrow and in the meantime, happy crafting.

Thank you beautiful card
Many thanks, Janet. xx
Was thinking about getting this set but you help those decisions to be made all the time!!! Anyway, my real comment is that I thought the ink was Night of Navy as that is the way it looks on the computer screen and I really liked that look so what I am saying is that Night of Navy would work as well as Tuxedo Black if not better. Food for thought!
Thanks again for a wonderful card.
Many thanks, Barbara. Yes, I agree it does look like Night of Navy. xx
What a beautiful card Jan. I’m getting that folder when I sign up in a couple of weeks. Can’t wait to get all the goodies. Love the kitty cat as well……Love it….TYFS
Many thanks, Claire. I’m pleased to hear you’re joining SU! Whose team are you joining? xx
