Hello, Crafters.
What a fabulous die this is? It’s from the Sending Flowers Die (153589) which is available as one of the products in the Co-ordination Product Release that runs until 31st March while stocks last. It has been designed to co-ordinate with the Sale-a-bration (SAB) Sending You Thoughts Stamp Set. There are five dies in the set, the largest one being this circle of flowers.
The other dies include two sentiment dies. I’ve used one for the CONGRATULATIONS sentiment, which is from the matching SAB stamp set detailed above. The second die has a scalloped edge around it, top and bottom, with straight sides at each end. The other two dies die-cut four individual flowers which are all different sizes, so a total of eight flowers! I assume will these flowers will fit on top of the die-cut flowerheads inside the circle.
My first plan was to adhere a sheet of Whisper White Cardstock (CS) behind the top die-cut flowery layer, which I had embossed using the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder – as you know I love all white cards! However, I knew there was a blue design with raindrops in the Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper (DSP – 153558) which is also part of the same Co-ordination promotion.
This DSP has designs that match the SAB Small Bloom Punch, the Heart Punch Pack, the Tulip Builder Punch, and the Umbrella Builder Punch. Each sheet in the DSP has images that can be punched out with one of these punches. On the other side of the DSP is a more generic design like the raindrops and consists of a pink gingham, a Granny Apple Green design and a three-eighths of an inch wide multi-coloured stripe.
For tomorrow’s card, I’m planning to use this flower die again, but I’ll use the small flower dies in coloured cardstock as well. This will probably give me the opportunity to use the Whisper White Layer that I dry embossed for today’s card but didn’t use! I’ll also remember to use the second die for the sentiments. The size of today’s card is 5½” x 5½”, the DSP layer is 5¼” x 5¼”, and the top layer is 5″ x 5″. I did the layers inside the card the same.
I stamped three butterflies from the Butterfly Wishes Stamp Set on a scrap of Whisper White CS using Balmy Blue Ink. They were punched out using the Butterfly Duet Punch and adhered onto the card front with Tombow. I added some tiny Pearl Basic Jewels. To colour the Basic Rhinestone Jewels I painted them using my dark Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends Pen. The die cuts a hole in the centre of some flowers. I added some Tombow in each hole so the gems adhered firmly.
To decorate the inside of the card I stamped two butterflies in the bottom right-hand corner and one in the top left-hand corner. Considering the WOW this card packs, it’s a surprisingly easy card to make. Below I have also included a photograph of the inside of yesterday’s card – you may remember I forgot to do this!
That’s about it from me today and I look forward to being back with yu tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.
