Hello, Crafters.
This weekend has certainly been different! If you watched yesterday’s video you’ll know hubby phoned me from work on Friday and said he had a problem. When I asked him what was wrong he said he’d lost his wedding ring! As we were talking the fire alarm in his office building went off. We finished the call so he could evacuate with everyone else. Fortunately, it wasn’t a fire although something or someone had triggered the alarm! Hubby phoned me back once they had been allowed back in the building and we continued our conversation. He didn’t know where or when he’d lost his ring and the HR manager sent an email round to all the staff asking them to hand the ring in if they found and that a reward was being offered. When we’d finished talking, he went back to work and I started searching the obvious places but found nothing. On Saturday hubby went through our paper wheelie bin (we have to separate our rubbish for recycling) because he had emptied the paper bin in my studio the previous day and had used his left hand to put in the bin to pull the paper out. To go through the wheelie bin meant he had to wheel it from the side of the house through the garden and down to the garage. We have an access road at the back for the garage. When the bin was in the garage he emptied all it’s contents on the garage floor and went through every piece of paper there! But still no joy.
For the rest weekend, we both kept coming up with various ideas where we thought the ring might be but we kept hitting a brick wall! Unbeknown to me, hubby kept thinking about a dream he had about his wedding ring. He’d dreamed he had been in bed and was fiddling with it and he dropped it but decided to pick it up in the morning and so went to sleep. Yesterday evening he wondered if it really was a dream or did it really happen. He had already checked all around the bed, and on the floor below the divan (the lower part of the bed under the mattress). He decided to look under the mattress and Eureka! It was there! Hubby felt he’d won the lottery! For me, my prayers had been answered!
All in all, we had a really full day yesterday and I didn’t have much time to create a card to share with you today. I decided on something simple! I fussy cut the two flowers from the fabulous Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) that will be available as a new Sale-a-bration (SAB) gift that will be available as from tomorrow. The two flowers have been coloured with the Light and Dark Lovely Lipstick and the Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. I used a Whisper White Cardstock (CS) card base, a layer of Granny Apple Green CS, a Whisper White CS layer that I’d embossed using the 3D Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder. On the top, I added a two-inch strip of Granny Apple Green CS I’d embossed with the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder. I adhered the flowers using Dimensionals and I chose the HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY sentiment from the Tea Together Stamp Set. Using Granny Apple Green Ink, I stamped it onto a scrap of Whisper White CS.
I looked through all my dies to find something that’s a little bit fancy but small enough to go in the bottom left-hand corner. The die I used is from the Stitched Labels Framelits which was the ideal size. To finish the front of my card, I added three medium-sized Champagne Rhinestones in a vertical line in the top right-hand corner, and I added one either end of Mother on the sentiment label. As I said earlier, I didn’t have much time to craft yesterday and I haven’t decorated the inside of the card!

I’m really looking forward to getting back into our normal routine now hubby’s wedding ring has been found. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow, and in the meantime, happy crafting.

Thank you for sharing the lost ring situation. I’m so thankful for you that it was found.
Many thanks, Cheri. It was such a relief! Hubby looked like the cat that got the milk! LOL! xx
Love the card Jan. The colors go well together. TYFS
Many thanks, Claire. Bright without being very bright! xx
I love the elegance of this card, Jan. So happy to hear that Othman found his ring. (And I am having no problems today getting onto your website or emails so think it must have been a Telstra problem here in Aust). XX M
Many thanks, Mal. No, the problem was with my web host! My IT guru said my certificate was due to expire a day later but my web host cut it off a day too soon! xx
One of the benefits of me living here in Aust – ahead of yr time. Glad i told you and that u were able to fix the problem. Xx m
Yes, and it was very much appreciated, too. My IT guru lives in the US and therefore five hours behind me! When I saw your message, I couldn’t believe it when I saw Catherine was online! It was 4 am for her and she was able to sort it out for me in no time! She really is amazing! It was all to do with my web host making my certificate expire a day early! xx
