Hello, Crafters.
Yesterday was another beautifully sunny warm day here in the UK and hubby and I went for a beautiful walk at lunchtime. I’m getting to like having him working from home with me! It’s working very well! Last week I had to cancel my appointment with Sharon to have my nails done. Then Boris Johnson put us in partial lockdown so I have no idea when I’ll next be able to have them done.
My attitude is that I cross my bridges when I get there! Sharon phoned me on the first day of lockdown and said she had been putting packages together for her clients so we could look after our own nails until we get back to what I’m sure will be a new normality. This is a particular concern for me because my nails are weaker than weak and I make videos! As I don’t have any intention of not making videos during the pandemic, my nails now need all the help I can give them!
During our conversation, I mentioned that Stampin’ Up! sell All-Inclusive Card Kits, and the only extras needed are glue and scissors. Sharon is not a crafter but she thought it was a fantastic idea and she ordered a Lots of Happy Card Kit – it’ll be delivered on Monday! This started me thinking about other non-crafters. Maybe they would welcome a chance to do something like this during the lockdown.
I first bought one of these kits ages ago and sorted it out yesterday! After I’d made one of each card, I decided to share them with you today. Maybe if you know someone who would like one to keep themselves occupied for part of their time during lockdown, you could connect them with your demonstrator. The Lots of Happy Kit is exceptionally good because there are twenty cards and the all have images that need colouring so they will last quite some time!
When I was making these cards yesterday, I followed the instructions almost to the letter. The only real change I made was to the sentiments! All of mine can be used as Thank You cards! The cards have been coloured with the Watercolour Pencils which come with the kit. My favourite card is the top photograph, where the flowers are dark near the centre and get lighter towards the outside!
The second photograph shows a close up of the petals/flowers. The colouring isn’t perfect but I’m sure the recipient will accept that as part of the artist’s design. On the regular-sized card – with the sentiment YOU DESERVE THE BEST LIFE HAS TO OFFER – I added a small bow on the outside edge because I managed to get a black smudge on it!
I’m thinking maybe I should make a HOW TO video to send to my customers who buy this kit to give them hints and tips on how to get the most out of it. It’d be a bit like the videos SU put out when they have new products. The only real difference would be is that SU videos are about four minutes long, mine would be more like forty minutes long.
That’s it from me today. The main job I have lined up for myself today is to edit tomorrow’s video and get it scheduled for 7 am! Then I’m going to allow myself more time to play with the Lots Of Happy Kit, but this time seeing what different ideas I can come up! I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, stay safe, stay well, and happy crafting.
JanB. xx

Jan
I haven’t been able to do much in the way of stamping since before all this happened I was in the process of reorganizing my craft room and everything is in my dining room. Then this happened and I have my two grandsons living with us and I have to home school them because schools are closed. It takes 2-3 hrs for each. I am hoping tomorrow and Sunday I can get fully organized and then get to crafting. The first thing I’m taking out is my lots of happy kit. You have inspired me. Thanks. Looking forward to the alternates. Enjoy your weekend
Hi, Terry. My goodness, you do have a lot on your hands. I hope you get your time to craft over the weekend – in between reorganising your craft room! Take care and stay safe. xx
Never mind the nails – keep healthy and safe is most important. The nails are irrelevant as your videos are all charming and clever and sweet. All of us have to cope with unruly hair, rotten nails etc. etc. God bless.
Many thanks, Lynda. You’re absolutely right! My hubby is going to see the true colour of my hair for the first time ever – I have warned him what to expect! LOL! Hes already had occasion to see my amazingly weak nails already! 🤣 Stay safe, stay well. xx
Just love the cards Jan. Especially love the octagon one….TYFS
Many thanks, Claire. Me, too but it doesn’t stand up so I changed it around for today’s blog! Stay safe, stay well. xx
