Hello, Crafters.
Today sees the launch of the Second Release of Sale-a-bration (SAB) gifts you can earn on qualifying orders. Click on the link to see the Sale-a-bration 3rd March – 31st March Brochure. Remember to check out the Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) that I used to make yesterday’s card with, and also the Tags In Bloom Stamp Set which is what I’ve used to create today’s card – this co-ordinates with the Label Me Fancy and the Label Me Lovely Punches.
I don’t know where it came from but I had an amazing amount of energy yesterday! As usual, I dealt with my admin first and then I decided to clean and tidy my desk. Normally I tidy up at the end of each day, but on Sunday I ran out of time so I left the mess there to be sorted out yesterday! It was when I started cleaning up the mess that I realised I had oodles of energy. I wish I felt like this every day!!
It isn’t often I get this much energy and I was determined not to waste it, so when I was cleaning up Sunday’s mess I started cleaning a lot more than just my desk! When I had finished I was very surprised to see it was lunch-time! Where did that time go? After lunch, I thought I’d start crafting but I was still in the mood for cleaning, sorting out and tidying up. Eventually, enough was enough…………………….thank goodness! LOL!
I didn’t really have much of an idea of what I wanted to do for a design for today’s card so I stamped the largest image and coloured it using two-step stamping. It’s the kind of colouring I like because it has nice thick outlines and its relatively easy to stay in the lines. Next, I stamped the image again but this time on a top layer of Whisper White Cardstock (CS) and I used my Stampin’ Write Marker pens for colouring in Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green.
On the front cover of the new SAB brochure, there’s a photograph of a square card which had the flower image top and bottom. I decided to go down the same road and at the same time, I also stamped four of the individual flowers. When I had finished colouring all the images, I fussy cut all the individual flowers. As I laid all the images on to the top layer, I decided which direction I wanted to go in!
I put all the images to one side except for the main image on the top layer, which I embossed using the Basket Weave Dynamic/3D Embossing Folder. On a scrap of Whisper White CS, I stamped the third large image for this card and coloured it in the same way as the previous two. I fussy cut the last two large images, making sure I left enough of the plain white “tag” area on both so I could match them up and cover the embossed area they will be adhered over.
Had I realised at the beginning that I was going to put two images on the top layer with Dimensionals I wouldn’t have done the first large image on the top layer! But no worries, it won’t be a problem. After adhering the two large images, I added two single flowers on each side so it now looks like a wreath! I was pleased with how my card was looking but then I was stuck! What could I do in the large white area in the lower half of my card!
I needed a Granny Apple Green Ribbon, but didn’t have any so I decided to use a strip of cardstock. After trying numerous ideas which included stamping and die-cutting two bows in different sizes, strips in different size widths, more than one strip, or the fancy strip in the Detailed Bands Dies. I looked through my gem boxes and decided five stars went well with the sentiment WISHING YOU THE BEST. I also added my last four Gold Metallic Pearls on either side of YOU in the sentiment!
Then I found myself in the same position as I was in on Sunday, which is I ran out of time to decorate the inside! I’ll try and make sure I finish off yesterday and today’s cards before I start working on tomorrow’s card! By the way, I used the strap die from the All Dressed Up Dies for the Granny Apple Green CS strip that I adhered in the lower section of the front of today’s card.
After a very satisfying day – apart from not decorating the inside my card! – that’s it from me today. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow, and in the meantime, happy crafting.
JanB. xx
PS I painted all the flowers and leaves using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen! xx

Lovely card Jan. I do love that embossing folder. I use it a lot.
Many thanks, Claire. Yes, I love that one, too. xx
