Hello, Crafters.
Today’s card is one of those that I don’t know if it already has a name or not but I’m calling it Double Front Flap Card. I saw a card made by Angie Juda aka Chic’n’Scratch but she did hers as portrait style. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance to watch her video, I just saw her card. I turned mine to be landscape and found it would stand up either closed or open!
I decided there were at least three different ways to decorate inside the card! My first card – my prototype – was made with the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper (DSP). I fussy cut some birds from the same DSP and adhered two birds who were looking forward on the right-hand side and I adhered one bird on the left-hand side who was looking behind himself so he could see the two on the other side! Every picture tells a story – I’m sure I could write a story about this picture!
The second card I made immediately before recording the video was made using the Pressed Petals DSP. To decorate the inside of this card I adhered a layer of the DSP on top of the Whisper White Cardstock (CS). I wanted to allow a fairly wide border of the DSP to show through a die-cut label I adhered on top. I chose the no. 5 scalloped rectangle die in the Stitched So Sweetly set of dies. I’m pleased to see these dies are being carried forward to the new catalogue!
My video card is the Peaceful Poppies DSP card in Poppy Parade. The design I used from the DSP is an absolutely stunning design. The colour is so vibrant it would look fabulous if it was framed! To decorate the inside of the Peaceful Poppies card I stamped an image from the Painted Poppies stamp set on each end of the Whisper White CS layer. It is the tall slim poppy with the flower and a bud.
I stamped them using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and coloured them using Dark Poppy Parade and Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. I didn’t do any blending but I left small white areas in the flowers and the leaves. It’s another way of creating texture! The flowers I used to keep the card closed were punched using the Small Bloom Punch which was available as a gift during Sale-a-bration, and will be available again in the new annual catalogue!
I decorated the insides of the flowers using the Frosted Flowers Embellishments which are retiring with the current catalogue, I’m very sorry to say. These have been my favourite embellishments for quite some time. I have one more card to make like this and it’s a masculine version. I’ll be using Come Sail Away DSP and am hoping to get it made later today so I can share it with you tomorrow!
That’s about it from me today. I wish you a very blessed Sunday. Please take very good care of yourselves, stay safe and stay well. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow and in the meantime, happy crafting.

Evening Jan. This is just such an elegant card and one I can easily make. I do believe, even if I say so myself, that I am learning so much from your tutorials and my cards are actually very presentable – soon I may even post one on your fb page. Great video as usual – very clear instructions. Hugs to you both: M M DJ
Many thanks, Mal. How I’d love you to share one of your creations! I’ll look forward to the day! Take care and stay safe. xx
