Hello, Crafters.
The unhappy news is that Sale-a-bration 2020 has finished! The happy news is that you can now buy the Ornate Garden Suite! YAY! This suite is a pre-release from the new Annual Catalogue which goes live on 3rd June 2020. To see all the products that are available in this suite, click on the link here: Ornate Garden Suite. Please pay particular attention to the Ornate Layers Dies – they are stunning!
I used one of the stamps from the Ornate Style Stamp Set to create today’s clean and simple Thank You card. When I first saw the stamp, I thought it looked like a corner stamp. I changed my mind once I had stamped it in each corner! Even though I don’t think the stamp was designed to be a corner stamp and the four corners don’t match, I think it works well when it’s used as one!
I stamped the images using Black Stazon Ink and coloured the images using my Stampin’ Write Marker Pens. First I coloured the leaves using the Pear Pizzazz Marker, and then I did a small dot of Daffodil Delight in the centre of all the flowers, regardless if they had a black dot in the centre or a black circle! Then I painted all the flowers with my Blushing Bride Marker but I left a white space around the yellow in each flower! See the close-up photograph below.
I decided to use the Thank You Thinlit Die and die-cut it using Blushing Bride Cardstock (CS). After I had adhered it in place, positioned so it didn’t touch any of the flowers, I embossed the layer using my Subtles Dynamic (3D) Embossing Folder. I decided to stop there because it looks so clean and simple and fresh! The flowers would be great for a wedding card!
I adhered the layer to a layer of Blushing Bride CS and then on to a Whisper White CS card base. Inside the card, I added a layer of Blushing Bride CS and then a top layer of Whisper White CS. As I said yesterday, I don’t normally decorate the inside of thank you cards, but I couldn’t resist stamping the image in the bottom right- hand corner. I found it so very relaxing colouring this image!
My final touch was painting the flowers in all the images using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen. I did try adding some Basic Pearl Jewels to the front of the card but it didn’t look right so I left it. As I’ve been writing, I’ve been looking at the card on the shelf in front of me, and asking myself is there anything I can add or is there anything missing. The answer has been a consistent no!
So I’m leaving it as it is! That’s it from me today. I hope you are all keeping safe and if like me you’re in lockdown I hope you’re spending your time crafting your “art” away! I look forward to being back with you tomorrow, and as always stay safe, stay well, and happy crafting!
JanB. xx
