Hello, Crafters.
I’m giving up saying I don’t normally decorate the inside of thank you cards! This is the third thank you card in a row that I have decorated inside! The lacy strip down the left-hand side is there to cover a black ink smudge! Check out the embossed Whisper White Cardstock (CS) layer on the front of the card. It’s part of the Ornate Garden Suite and is called the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. I think it’s the prettiest embossing folder I’ve ever seen!
One of the colours in this suite is Terracotta Tile but we don’t have Stampin’ Blends to match. I have found that the Light Cajun Craze works well – see the daisy petals! After I had embossed the top Whisper White CS layer I should have cut it down in size rather than wasting it under the Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP).
I used one of the lacy dies in the Ornate Border Dies and a strip of Terracotta Tile CS to make a fancy edge between the Ornate Garden DSP and the embossed Whisper White CS. Before I adhered the layers together, I wrapped a piece of Terracotta Tile ribbon along the edge with the lacy strip and adhered it at the back of the card. The ribbon is part of the Ornate Garden suite and comes as a combo with a roll of Old Olive ribbon.
The Whisper White CS lacy frame was die-cut with one of the layering dies in the Ornate Layers Dies. I stamped the daisy using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and coloured the flower using the Light Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blend, the leaf in Light Old Olive, and the centre of the daisy in Dark Daffodil Delight. I finished the image by going around all the edge using Light Pool Party. I also painted the daisy inside the card in the same way.
The sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set and I love the font and I also like that it isn’t in a strictly straight line, so it isn’t noticeable if I’m a little bit crooked! I finished the front of the card by adding a bow onto the stem of the daisy which loosely connected with the sentiment. I adhered the sentiment to a piece of Terracotta Tile CS because I wanted to pop the sentiment up on Dimensionals and I felt a single layer was too thin!
Inside the card, I adhered a layer of Terracotta Tile CS and then the Whisper White CS layer that I’d stamped the image of the daisy on, together with the lacy strip that was concealing my inky smudge! Before I make a card today for tomorrow, I’ll make sure I sort out a different sentiment rather than allowing myself to get hooked on thank you cards.
That’s about it from me today. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow and in the meantime, please take very good care of yourself, stay well, and happy crafting.
JanB. xx

Many thanks, Claire. I’m in love with the Ornate Garden Bundle! xx
This is so pretty Jan. I had to CASE it with a couple of minor changes. I hope you don’t mind. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful work. JoAnn
Many thanks, JoAnn. Not at all. I’m always pleased when my cards get CASE’d, with or without changes. xx
